Canucks have a bunch of individuals that can't play together and trading away one of those individuals is somehow going to help the team start to play together? - manvanfan
I am sure if Horvat were to go to market, he would fetch a pretty healthy return.

1/ Elias Pettersson is an artist. His canvas is the ice, and his tools are a stick and puck. Artists can often be mercurial. They need inspiration, confidence, hunger.
Right now, we're seeing what happens to an artist when they lose those motivators. It can appear bleak
2/ In my humble opinion, the best way to help Pettersson regain his former self is to inspire him. To rouse that imagination from its slumber. To incite, motivate, & invigorate him
It appears that needs to come from a fundamental shift within the scope of the team and org
/3 And for those who say, "he has 7 million reasons to be inspired."
Sure, money is one thing, but it almost becomes another brick tied to your feet as you struggle to stay afloat. Added weight and pressure.
He needs positivity and energy. Joy. Camaraderie. optimism. Belief
/4 I stand by my belief that his talent has not been stolen by some aliens looking to win an intergalactic exhibition match. It's in there, waiting to resurface.
He will get back to his old ways. But he may need some help, some patience, some trust to get back there. - VanHockeyGuy

Sounds like Cam wants to give Pouty a coddling type hug.

There is a lot of players that would fetch a good price. Too bad the players still left and the players brought in will still face the same challenges.

I don't see any player moves until after the new team has assessed the roster.
Anyways, this is from an article about Habs frontrunner for GM.
Gorton’s experience helps the organization to be able to hire an inexperienced GM who can learn and be mentored by Gorton. The top candidates for the job are Tampa Bay Lightning’s AGM Mathieu Darche and Anaheim Ducks’ AGM Martin Madden. Gorton and Molson will work together to hire who they feel is the best candidate; this will likely happen quickly, and the Canadiens could see a new GM by the end of the week.

I 100% agree with this. The new age NHL. Get with it or get out of the way.
You're going to have to choose a side Ruby. Can't scold coaches that beat players asses but then ask for one to do it to one of the players. - manvanfan

Something tells me that Madden will make sure that more than one of his first-round picks from the next eight years will still be with the team by then.
Bergevin couldn't say the same. It's a low bar. But, hey, he set it.
From an article I saw about Madden Jr.
He has a hell of a lot more experience than Darche has that's for sure.

I don't see any moves until the new President of Hockey Ops, hires a GM. Then they assess the roster together and plan on the new coach they will hire.
That’s a good one and I have a tendency to agree but I’m from another time.
We just went through a re-org at the health authority and I now report up to a person who’s 20 years younger than me. Her staff are 30 years younger than me. We are from two different worlds. My very first meeting with this crew I knew I was the fish out of water when they concluded the meeting with 10 minutes of affirmations. “You are a great listener”, “you are nice”, “I like your smile”, etc. It was absolutely ridiculous. I was told I had “nice hair”.

And the longer ownership waits, the less value our assets have.
