EP is a guy you build around. I would think he surpasses Henrik as the teams all time leader in points by the end of his career. Only reason he won't win a Art Ross is because he is competing with McDavid, Draisatl, Kucherov, Mackinnon every year. - Retinalz

I agree. The kid is a stud and when he was on he was very exciting to watch. He still has that ability but his desire to perform at that high level has been eroded due to TG's horsepoop coaching approach and methods.
I think the stars are aligning for another Cam Neely like situation. If EP is traded this season, it will be something the fans will regret for decades to come.
I agree, no quick turn-around but this franchise, local media, and fan base has been very patient with JB and TG even though it's obvious they don't have what it takes to be successful.
We all know that EP has the tools to be very successful but most are willing to jettison his ass because of uninspired play over two seasons; two seasons of horrific coaching, pathetic management, ownership meddling, and a pandemic.
IMO fan hate is misdirected. - bloatedmosquito
Good reason for the hate. Three goals after 22 games and a lackluster effort won't endear any fan base.
I don't think he will be traded this year but he needs to light a fire under his ass .
No, EP is an amazing player. Like the team, I blame the coaching staff for poor performance. I see us right now like the 2015 Avalanche. Coaching issue and a tweak needed in the locker room.
Trade Miller, Trade Boeser get a RHD back in either trade. Upgrade or 3c to a righty.
Get a good coach, competent management and we will be a force in a season or two.
Miller may be having the O'Reilly effect on our locker room. All the talent and is a difference maker, needs to go somewhere else.

He is being outplayed and outscored by Podkolzin who share the same coaches.

I would be more concerned if it was just him with the lackluster effort but it seems to be affecting everyone except for a few. As a fan, I too have lost that motivation to get excited for the games. I've stopped watching and have stopped paying attention to the daily activity of this team. At times, not even sure who they are playing. I've essentially given up, much like the players because of the absolute absurdity of ownership and team management.

Hearing that BOS and Jake DeBrusk are working on the possibility of a fresh start for the player. Told nothing is imminent at this time, but something to keep an eye on. - VANTEL
Would be an excellent fit here under a proper coach.

You do not build around an entitled brat that can’t win a board battle

Disagree on Petey being an amazing player. Good, enigmatic, talented, lazy, skilled, and pouty are adjectives I would use, not amazing. We obviously disagree on what an "amazing player" is, and also disagree on what type of player you build a team around. I like players such as Barkov, Kopitar, Draisaitl, Bergeron to build around. Strong, big, skilled, hard to knock off the puck guys that put up points and you can trust in the last minute of a game. Petey, imo, is a complementary type guy, skilled and great on the wing with a tough center or a second line C but not a captain type , or guy you build a winning team around. He is more like a William Nylander, Ehlers type of player to me.
Thanks Carol, this season goes to show that you can’t simply spend your way out of a poop show. Abbotsford was supposed to be competitive with all the high priced AHL talent they brought in.
