Even though the bruins play like their following social distance rules is it a surprise that some were going to test positive after just playing the flames. Nobody is sick just positive. I’m starting to get sick watching this soft as marshmallow team. No Bruin spirit here. I could understand Sweeney the Harvard man building a team of little worker b’s because that’s what he was. But Neely was a true Bruin and played to the identity. Expected his fire to carry over.

Read the comments from Backes in a recent interview...it was Neely himself that said hockey has changed and we couldn't be the big, bad Bruins anymore.

Not asking for the BBB’s. But look at the players that are elsewhere and the players you have now. Then look at the top teams all have some element of toughness. Look at the most recent successful teams Tampa, islanders, Caps, blues all had that element. Look at teams that moved in that direction Rangers, Leafs, Calgary even Colorado went out and got Mcdermid from LA. So please stop with the we’re not the big bad bruins anymore. Dubas in Toronto was the prince of the speed and skill BS. But he got tired of getting beat because of a lack of grit. Now he has Simmons’s, Ritchie, Clifford at his disposal. Bunting another gritty type. Rangers go out and get a bunch of toughness. Seems to be working, no ?
My bruins have no players who can spark a the team with passion and toughness, no players who even step in when their captain is being bothered. Thing that really sets me off is when they talk about getting back to their “ hard to play against identity “. Look at the roster your defense is hard to play against ? Matt Grz, Reilly, Forbert, Moore, zboril , scary !!!! Carlo is good but not a physical threat . So never mind the big bad bruins just try being a team with some kind of pushback. No Sweeney get us some more Nosek, haula, forbert, Moore signings. Sprinkle in some high picks like jake, zboril, senyshen. And of course don’t replace Chara, Miller, Ritchie, Acarri, kuraly etc types. Their not needed in the new NHL.[/img]

Silver lining is it will force the Bruins (hopefully!) to play Stud at center for at least several games. Of course he'll be centering bottom six players now (even if he is in at 2C).

At this point it would be best if enough Bruins end up in protocol (without actually getting sick of course!) that it forces the NHL to postpone games. With Bergy and Marchy out, I don't like our chances...

Yeah. Given the rampant cases popping up around the league, I think its probably best to just shut it all down for a couple of weeks, cancel the olympics, then reschedule games during the time allocated for the olympics. Its only going to get worse if we keep going.

Bang on. Cant really disagree with that. You need a flavour of different style players in your lineup, you can’t go too heavy one way or another, but you need someone to take care of your captain.

This has to be it for Sweeney and management. Don had the luxury of having 4 of the best players in the league locked up for under 6.5 mil and McCavoy at 4.9 year and he’s pissed the rest of his salary cap away. Pathetic really.
