OMG... Flyers suck at shootouts. And so does Coots. Why he's shooting I don't know. - Letterkenney

Coots has really had a poor season this year. Just disappointing play on both sides of the puck. - landros 2
He must have a nagging injury. He’s been a non factor all year.
Hayes, coots, JVaarrgh, not contributing much at all. Ok give Hayes some slack he was out almost all year but he goes for long skates instead of stopping and going for the puck. |

Whatever... All I heard that they have the worst league-wide record for shootouts.

Why does this team torture us with the shootout. Its an almost certain loss....just give me a break and have the Flyers go to the bench and allow the opposition to score 1 and good night. There's certainly an organizational problem... Since its inception they've been putrid. I can remember only one year where there's been any excitement, that was when Ghost was a threat. I actually hope they miss the playoffs by the exact number of points they flush away by losing in the shootout. They should be ashamed |

I don’t know what it is…but he’s a non factor every night. When your #1 is a no show it’s tough to win. Fletch has his work cut out for him….this team is not very good |

Flyers didn't show any effort until midway through the 2nd period. Hart bailed them out in the 1st period. I guess the Fly Boys forgot about their 10 game losing streak???? |

I'm new to posting but long time reader here and this is my favorite post after one from 6-7 years ago about Ake-gretzky after many posters thought that Jason Akeson was our savior. He had 2-3 good games. |

Ex Flyers tonight? Nolan Patrick is still MIA. Myers played 6 minutes for the Preds. Not sure if he was injured during the game or they basically benched him for poor play. Voracek was a -1 for the BJs with another game where he received a whopping 13 minutes of ice time. I bet they are enjoying having a guy getting 3rd line forward minutes while they pay him over 8 million smackers a year!! Ghost is getting top defender minutes in AZ and starting to leak oil, and Hagg is injured now and is listed as month to month with that injury. It appears other than the draft picks the Flyers gave up nothing this past off season and they can recoup those at the trade deadline if they are out of the playoff picture. Thanks! |

For anyone who got excited about a 3 game winning streak this game will square you away. Outplayed, outworked, outclassed by a team who iced a pre-season lineup.
The fact they are non competitive year after year in shootouts and its accepted is pathetic. |

Couturier last 18 games:
1 goal 3 assists -11
Awful. Not playing anywhere near the level of his contract. |

That’s the story here. At least Prov is a litle better of late. Now if they can just get Ex selke back to anything even close to where he was a couple of years ago. |

I don't care about people wearing masks in public. Do your own thing. But wearing them alone in their own car???? That's just plain moronic. Beyond stupid. - Letterkenney
I know of 2 people who because of severe allergies always masked outside their home before the pandemic. Things went from bad to worse…people avoiding them and staring at them before to pointing and laughing and yelling things like moron at them now. Mind your own business.

I don’t like calling the shootout a skill’s competition, but it does drive home my point. Honestly, it should not have gotten that far if the PP or top guys had gotten a goal on the night…scoring 3 minimum. The shootout is part of the game whether they like it or not…so is the issue lack of skill to score or lack of compete or both? So bad when no goals are scored by the Flyer’s shooters.

refs again struggled but gave them the opportunity to close it in OT with a bad call.

From the dismal first period to the power play, opportunities were squandered. I don’t blame the refs for this. 3 goals total wasn’t asking too much when they did get goal support, 2 goals, from depth players.

This is a just a bad and really unacceptable loss at this stage in the season. Montreal had lost 7 straight games, were the worst 3rd period team in the league and 0-3 in OT, yet the Flyers manage to lose the game to them!! The Flyers had a rough first period but then turned it around and controlled the game in the 2nd, 3rd, and OT, yet they still lost! Why? Very simple. It was not because of the goaltending, it was not because of the defense or defensive structure, but instead it was 100% because this TEAM CANNOT FINISH!! Time and time again this team generates incredible looks at a goal and just can't score! Any other decent team that generated the possession time and looks that the Flyers did last night would have scored 6 or7 goals, but not these Flyers. All you have to do is to look at the skills competition at the end, once again the Flyers don't come CLOSE to scoring a goal, while Montreal's forward made some nice plays and scored 1 which was all that was needed. The skill level on this team is just not good enough and don't think for a second adding Ellis, Bee and Allison back into the mix is really going to change things that much because it won't! This is why I still believe it must be blown up! |
