I hope the fans spent a lot of money to this point while attending games. Saw that some of these teams starting this weekend are going to limit capacity again.

The Cap no likey that.

Haven’t heard much clamoring about the great Cole Caufield lately. Fair weather fans I guess.

Didn't they already set the cap limit for next season? +$1M?

I think the Flyers' sack is less sad so I'm looking for a win tonight.

I fully expect to win tonight and Saturday but if they don’t show up against Washington and Pittsburgh, we’ll be right back to where we were in November.

I'm not sure. I only said it because for a gate driven league reducing fans again can't be good long term.

With that said, if Fletcher keeps dumpster diving just like in the picture you had and keeps finding Connauton's we should be good.

That is what they said...guess it will depend on COIVD outbreaks and how it may impact finances. Hopefully that would be somewhat mitigated by he new national TV contracts but the owners could try to hold the line and make up for last years losses

I'll clamor for Cole Caufield. He is everything and more they expected. All you had to do was watch Montreal's playoff run last year. Teams had to game plan for him. But all that doesn't matter if we don't understand the dynamics of what a team is. I'm not saying he is Connor McDavid. By himself he's just a kid with great hands, skating ability and a sniper skill to hit small openings of the net. But he needs talent around him to be successful, just like most players. Not making excuses for them, and I'm certainly not a Montreal fan, but they had a dreadful off-season, multiple losses either from injury, illness or free agency.
Although I'm happy with York, I wish we had him.

They usually set the cap limit mid-season so teams can plan ahead, tho. $82.5M for 2022-23 is already written in stone.

That is projected to continue for another 2-3 seasons, so reduction in gates or not, the cap will never go down but can also only go up at most by $1M per season until the players pay off their Covid "debts".

The Coyotes, Senators, Canadiens all at the very least will finish lower in the standings than the Flyers do. You can't lose the lottery when you don't have the best odds of winning.

Teams must be game planning for him, that’s why he’s not performing

I think he is going to be a good player, but there is a reason so many teams passed on him at the draft. Some in here had him pegged as the next Theo Fleury because the entire Montreal team caught lighting in a bottle last playoff year.

The last thing the Flyers needed was another undersized forward who disappears for long stretches at a time.

15 years from now we will see how York and Caulfield careers compare.
