There may be a good reason for wearing a mask alone in a car. It might be a rental or borrowed. It may be a ride share or carpool. All situations where they don't know whether others in the car just before are sick or not.

That big? HAHAHA! I do know that my best buddy's kid played with him in the USHL and he told me that Brink's hockey IQ is exceptionally high. Whether or not his skill set is NHL level to go along with is IQ is another question we'll find out about.

But, since you asked, several hundred years of epidemiology reveals that a novel virus tends to be bad at first but over time as more people catch it and recover, the virus attenuates (meaning it becomes less virulent/deadly). The common cold killed many people when it first showed up. The Spanish Flu of 1918 killed a lot of people when it showed up. But each of them are nothing to even think about today.

Just like the overuse of antibiotics creates stronger strains of antibiotic resistant strains of bacteria, this vaccine is leaky and creates stronger variants of the virus which spread quicker and become more virulent.

Doing nothing may have been tougher in the short term very early on, but in the long run it would have been the best thing to do in conjunction with early treatment therapeutics and monoclonal antibodies that are highly effective to minimize the fatality rates.
