Pretty much have my list for the trade deadline:
Laf, Schneider and Othmann are untouchables for me
Miller and Kakko I don't want to deal but would listen depending on the player we could bring back
Every other prospect/pick is on the table in trade talks
Time for fun!! - TPC
Coulda drafted Zegras ... But who knew he'd be all the rage this soon.
Certainly not I or the Ducks... |

Othmann and Cuylle can join us when the juniors season ends right? - aecliptic
Should prob keep them away from the NYR roster as long as possible with the way our current track record is going.
This team needs a 3rd line of greasy veterans. |

So you think 2 19yo first year pros will come into NY, you know, no pressure at all and jump start a team with Panarin, CK20, Zibb, Fox and Trouba. Yeah that will work out fine, 2 more prospects destroyed. |

This is the irrational exuberance I was talking about. This team is realistically in the first year after the so call rebuild. They are one of the top ten teams in the league, yet fans want want more, not wanting to be little patient and let the team grow, develop and make their own identity. True players we want more from, Laf, KK, Chyil, Nils, Etc have not come on like gang busters...Yet but this is NY, not Arizona. Just a tad bit more pressure. So now, we fans, want to trade out the young assets that we just painstakingly acquired these past 3 yrs and trade them away, again, for what we perceived as a quick fix.
Yes we have Panarin, CK20, Zibby and to a lesser extent Strome, so everyone wants to rush and win now. I dont think any of these players will fall off the cliff for another 3-4 years before they start to decline so there is time. These inconsistencies are called growing pains. The Rangers havent experienced it cause we never tried to rebuild. |

You guys gotta give these 2 some more time. I know with the state of the team you want instant gratification considering where we sit in the standings. We are talking about 2 20 year olds right now. I’m really not that concerned. It will click for them we just gotta have them stick around long enough for us to see it. |

You got to see Nils play for 3 months, you got to see Schneider play these last 10 games. Who has been better? You want to honestly tell me youre more inclined to play Nils over Schneider? Because if youre not, then you gotta take that asset and trade him for something we need on this team because as it is Nils wont be playing ahead of Fox, Trouba and Schneider.
Chytil has been here for 4 years, and for 4 years all he has done is continue to disappoint all his supporters. When will people accept that he is simply not that good?
Our exuberance is matched by your unrealistic belief that every 1st round pick and every prospect we have is some how a potential stud in the making. Sorry to break your heart, but that simply just isnt the case. People just cant deal with the fact that the possibility that we landed some dud's is there.
At some point you have to cut bait and maximize value on an asset. |

Well, Id want to send them to the AHL and see how they tolerate that first.
However, lets not forget, Cuylle was one of the later cuts this year in training camp to start the year. Coaches were very impressed with him. |

I happen to think Othman gets called up middle of next year. He could be the best forward prospect they drafted in years. He’s also a pure sniper |

He would be good to play with Panarin and Strome. Kreider and Zib need a playmaker, setup guy.
I know we dont want to break up the Strome, Panarin combo... however if we do make a trade for Miller, Id like to see Strome play RW with Zib and Kreider. Since Zib would no longer be the primary puck mover on the ice, it may allow him to set up on the top of the circle where he likes essentially mimicking our PP.
Panarin could line up with Miller and either Kakko or LAF. Lets see if 2 of the leading scorers in the league can get one of them activated. Personally, Id like to see LAF there.
The third line again, a bit of a wild card, but it starts off with Goodrow and Kakko. However we need another veteran here, and one person I saw on an expiring contract who could fit the bill is Paul Statsny. Hes having a fairly decent year, and hes been excellent of faceoffs his entire career. |

Exactly, MAXIMIZE the value of the asset. What is Nils worth?? What is Chytil worth??? Not much, if anything at all. So why trade them for a second or third round pick, just for the sake of trading them?? What?? You said package them for JT Miller, now why would Vancouver want a player who has disappointed for 4 yrs?? Why would they want Nils who hasnt looked good??? Ahhh Because you want them to take them but there maybe a team out there who will offer a better prospect. Fans always throw in the players they dont want in a trade but guess what, the other teams might not want them either. There isnt anyone banging down the Rangers door looking to trade for Chytil or Nils.
I dont know what I did to make you think that I think every first round pick will develop into a stud, it is quite possible we drafted 5 duds in Laf, KK, Chytil, Lias and Kravs.
The problem is NONE of these players are scoring for us right now, if they were we wouldnt be looking for help thru trades./

This has nothing to do with me. I actually have discussion with fans of other teams with whom I suggest trades and theyre the ones that essentially filter down or buffer up the trades for what they believe to be "fair" value. I get it, ACGM isnt for everyone, people dont want to bother with it. However, I enjoy it, I enjoy the banter with fans of our and other teams. When it seems like something has come to some sort of agreement between the 2 sides, I throw it up here to see what people think. |

Admittedly, I did not read the last few novels above this comment (including this one 🤗).
But, when talking about Othmann it would be good for us to remember that he is a left winger. I know many here don't feel switching sides is much of a concern, but it certainly complicates things.

Oh I’m so done with Chytil too. His game isn’t made for the NHL at all. He’s got very little skill and generates some offense off the rush. Other than that he doesn’t bring much else.
The rangers were so successful from 2005-2015 because they had guys that would grind you down and hound the puck( Zuccs, Cally, Dubi, Boyle, Hagelin, Moore, Anisimov) and they were built for the long 7 game series. The issue was there wasn’t enough high end skill. We would have constant conversations about how we wouldn’t be successful if we didn’t go get at the time it was Gaborik or Nash. Not until Brad Richards and Marty St Louis came here did we take that next step in reality. We waited to late in the game to add that offensive prowess to add to the “black and blue shirts”. Now we have the complete opposite going on. We have these players that are high skill finesse players who try to make every goal look pretty and with these East west passes. We have a great defensive unit that’s young and a goalie that’s not even touched his prime yet. Now is the time to bite the bullet and look to make an impact trade that will improve us come playoff time. It may not look favorable on paper but we desperately need to revamp our 3rd line. We need more Barclay Goodrows. We must remember our mistakes of the past and this team primed to add. Sammy Blais is very missed on this team right now.
Give me a 3rd line of Lafreniere Pavelski R. Smith
Jones, Nils, Kravtsov, Hajek, Chytil, and really anyone else in Hartford is all fair game to move. We need to become more difficult to play against.
Reaves, Rooney, Hunt are the perfect 4th Line. Bring Energy, hunger, and grind you down. Plus they are responsible in there own end. |

Why not? Pretty bland answer. Not saying it’s like he is cemented there but why not at this point in career? Gotta give me a little more than “He ain’t playing on the 3rd line here” If it’s fit and you’re rolling all 4 lines what’s the issue? |

Because hes averaging over a point per game, hes one of the league leaders. Why not just put him with Panarin and Strome? Every line we have needs some stability.
Personally, I wouldnt be opposed to putting Stastny between Goodrow and LAF.
Vegas also is in no rush to make trades, I can guarantee theyre gonna milk the Eichel return until the playoffs. Hes not gonna play the regular season unless Pacc's is out on LITR until the playoffs. |

Any thoughts on Kubalik from CHI? Hes listed as playing both wings, former 30 goal scorer on a bit of a slump this year. Could be had probably without giving up too much. |

I still don’t understand the argument that because he’s averaging a point a game he won’t play on the 3rd line. Matthews, Tavares, Marner, and even Nylander who is listed as a center all averaging over a point a game. Barkov, Reinhart, Bennet in Florida all almost averaging a point a game. Stamkos, Point, Cerelli same thing. Sure you can put him with Strome and Panarin but rather solidify that 3rd line center. |

The constant beef everyone has here is we dont have proper even strength scoring. Putting Pavelski on the third line doesnt solve that issue.
Thats why I made the suggestion of maybe grabbing Stastny for the 3rd line. |
