Will you kidnap Paves?? Reports say he doesnt want to leave Dallas?? Or are the reports just dirty lies?? - Brukie
If he doesnt want to leave, then so be it. We can make an offer to Philly for Giroux to play the same position. Although Id still like to grab Holtby from Dallas if possible. |

What would Crouse and Kessel cost? Chytil Nils and a mid round pick? Kessel is an UFA and Crouse is a RFA. I’d say they’d want a 1st but they already have 3 1sts (MTL COL AZ) and 5 2nds (AZ NYI PHI SJS VAN) next year. I’d think they would want young guys on cheap contracts that could help fill their roster and maybe start competing a little bit.

I dont want Kessel on this team. He doesnt bring the type of hockey we need here. |

What about Haag from BUF to fix our problem at LD. He’s an UFA after this year and brings a physical presence with him, he could pair with Schneider and be a solid 3rd pair that plays physical |

Buffalo isn’t giving up Tage Thompson. He is a piece to build around for them. |

I like all 3 of these even though Dallas definitely would want a higher end prospect in return. - Awolff9
Dallas has Oettinger, they don't need Georgiev |

Will get a blog up when I can. Still watching the Lundqvist retirement ceremony and catching on the game. Garage door broke Thursday night and couldn't get snow blower out, so ended up shoveling for three-plus hours last night. |

Brett Howden has more points in 10 less games than Laf. Same as Kakko. They gotta figure this out within the organization |

Laf, KK, Chytil, Lias and Kravs, the Rangers havent had much success developing these kids. |

I dont know what it is, theyre so good with developing defense but seem to flounder with the forwards.
I wonder if the lack of forward depth and the "desperation" to get this team viable again has forced the organization to forego the development of these kids in the AHL, as well as the reluctance to send them down when it was necessary to do so to the detriment of their progress. |

It’s becoming less and less of a coincidence. The opportunity/ice time argument is one factor as is the tight-leash one as to partially explaining the unimpressive career starts.
I don’t think the Rangers could have drafted the wrong players every single time. So other than ice time/freedom with that ice time, where else have the Rangers gone wrong?
If it’s coaching/guidance then why is their development success rate with defenseman so impressive?
Does it come down to patience? A defenseman can play 82 games in his rookie season and put up 6 points and that season could be a raging success because of the little things they do on the ice. I don’t think forwards get that luxury, because if you put up 100 pts in juniors, you should certainly be able to do the same here (allegedly).
Unfortunately, they are just kids, and understandably they are fragile. So when confidence goes, how do you get it back? I think that’s the key. |

The COVID year was the proper opportunity to send these kids to the AHL to let them play and develop. They rushed it, at the worst possible time. |

Obviously signing Panarin, CK20, Trouba and Zibby to these long term contracts were made to speed up the rebuild and then of course adding players thru the draft to supplement them. The vets are coming thru for them but these kids are sputtering. If they were playing well, there would be no need to make any trades, I would say this team would is a contender. But unfortunately until players other than Panarin, CK20 and Zibby start to produce, it will be difficult. |
