I’m sorry. We’re just going to have to agree to disagree on this one.

I would also include the situation where we don’t see eye to eye on this

Their descent has been noticeable over the last couple seasons. Problem is, aside from a handful of network guys, most up here in Canada, I can't stand ANY teams announcers!

Actually I liked the announcer that the hurricanes let go. Can’t recall his name

I do not follow Junior league or any other hockey league but the NHL so I never saw Laf play before last year. But I definitely read all the hype and what is the consensus best overall player in the draft but a compellation of the stats and what scouts are seeing with their eyes? - This begs the question why non of us can see 1OA talent - just sayin. I hope he becomes what we all either want or expect.

When its all said and done - I think JT will have had the best career out of them. ..and why not get him him while he is peaking since we kind of have a age window and positional need now
- Greschnergy#4

Right take a huge gamble on a guy who is a point per game this year. He didnt do it last year. Did it his first year in Vancouver, didnt do it in Tampa, didnt do it with the Rangers the first time either.

Good Idea, Laffy, KK and a first should get it done!!

The bill of goods sold by the media were different than the hype by fans. He was always considered more in line with RNH/Tavares type than a McDavid/Matthews type. In other words, he was the clear top choice for more than just his flash.

Add on to it being the rangers first ever 1oa pick and all the hype that comes with playing in NY and the expectations were simply set too high.

Whether u liked him or not, think he had a spot on the team or not, losing him for absolutely nothing was a terrible organizational mistake.

The hope was that he would become Jonathan Huberdeau. That was my comp and the feeling many had. He needs to work on his skating and would benefit from playing with better line mates on the left side. If making him a RW, then he needs to spend the summer adjusting to the opposite wing.

At this point Laf has to play RW or trade him. He is useless as a 3rd liner. Right now hes the most useless 10A in the last 10 years. If he was playing at Hughes level this team would be unreal
- nyrangers2

Hughes only stepped up this year and he's had a ton of play on that Devils team averaging 18 mins a game. Laf hasn't had time like that. You could make a case for Kakko being much less than a #2OA but between DQ making him ride pine and the inconsistent lines... it's really on the organization. They've been great in acquiring assets and not so great at developing them.

One thing is for sure, his work ethic isn’t in question nor has it ever been. A little summer work with Barb and Marty could be just what he needs.

I guess I’m the only one that sees flashes?

I’m with you. He could easily have at least 10 more points if he had guys on his line that can finish

As much as I'm not a fan, a play for Evander Kane may have been a decent gamble. He's gotta feel he has something to prove right now to stay in the league. I'm curious what the financials ended up being.

The problem for the Rangers and Laf in particular, is Panarin and Kreider are both left wings, and will not be moved to the right side to accomdate Laf. Unless he shows an ability to adjust to the RW, his playing time and linemstes may not change anytime soon.

Does that mean you include him in a deal? Probably not. But at some point, you have to wonder if it's not in his and the Rangers best interest to move on.

that's why when people keep saying to send Lafreniere and/or Kakko down, who are we bringing up?

we are trying to win this division, those two guys are still better than who we have down there
