Perhaps this was already answered somewhere, but is Lou Nolan still not announcing at the WFC?

Is he good? He's old so I'm thinking with covid he's laying low but who knows. It would be right in line with the corporate mindset to just dismiss him with no recognition....

My boos at the time owned the house. He lived on LBI. Place was empty. 1 block below South, between 2nd and 3rd. Great place to be single for the year between wives. The single part only lasted 6 months. It was great. We'd hang out on weekend see who was performing in Camden, get last minute tickets, take the ferry. Didn't move the car for days.
- jaws1955

yeah thats exactly when/why i went down there. closer to work and newly single at the time.

that being said, the northeast philly part of me was far too reliant on the concept of having a car and not being afraid to use it so i sprung for a garage near headhouse.

lifes too short to slink around looking for parking. i dont know how people mentally do it down there.

I go to Planet Fitness I can do around 90 bench press.

Never maxed out.

It's on a Smith machine too. For whatever reason I CAN do two 50 lb dumbbells.

- DrMidnite

im a huge fan of doing the bulk of your pressing with dumbells. the range of motion and freedom to ease some pressure on your wrists and shoulders is great. you can still get a hell of a workout in with them and an adjustable bench.

machines are weird. i swear so many are calibrated differently than their counterparts elsewhere

I looked for 45 minutes one night, when I lived near Passyunk Square.

I used to just pay the parking tickets and park in the ACME lot.

I swear to never ever do that poop ever again. I don't own a car here in Tucson, and people wonder why.....

yeah, exactly. i have buddies who literally will put their entire lives on hold because they have a good parking spot and dont want to sacrifice it. shooting the horse in the (frank)ing head to benefit the cart type thinking if you ask me.

Oh, It's a complete waste of time, energy, money, you name it, to own a car while living and working in Philadelphia. I don't understand how more people don't see that.

I parked in a construction zone in front of my place one night after looking for upwards of a half hour, and just figured "oh well, they'll tow it".

They did. The absolute worst part of living in that city is the cars. I'll never understand how people do it for a lifetime.

Was just a year. Had a company car. They paid for parking in the lot at 3rd and south. Never drove around the city. I'd roller blade every where. Worked in Pennsaken. 15 minutes. Then I moved to Exton. Great area. Long drive to work. Only went in once or twice a week. On the road mostly.

Lol, I pushed a lot of it today. In my defense, I had a broken abscess tooth that kept me up and came out this after noon. I've been in pain since Sat and a bit cranky. Pretty much said whatever popped into my pain addled head. Only 2/3 of it still hurts. Was just screwing around. Did poke MJL a bit. Oh well. I'll feel better tomorrow. Back to lurking

I just looked at the standings for the first time in forever cause well, you know, the Flyers have no shot at the playoffs. It's just astounding how far behind they are from the top teams in their division/conference. Just really hard to fathom when you sit back and think about how far this season has gone off the rails. That's all I got. Thanks!

Actually a lake and a pole. Had a lot of down time. Dealt with fire departments. A lot of visits at night. PA has more volunteers than any state. Ben Franklin started the first fire department. A lot of long drives for an hour meeting.

I did too. I didn’t know any better. Lesson learned, I bounced a year later back here and haven’t regretted it for a second.

Philadelphia is a big place. Maybe that's true if you live in center city but not in other parts. I couldn't possibly function well without a car. I don't understand how you don't see that.

Wow, now people are arguing as to whether you should have a car in the city or not. This city needs a winning hockey team in the worst way!! I don't live in the city thank God, but when I travel to center city it's always public transportation. No way I'm trying to park a car in that mess! Thankfully it's rare that I need to go in town and I sure as hell ain't going to a Flyers game anytime soon(although we drive to those)!
