Bill who on the Phantoms right now do you see as a legit NHL prospect? One who will be either a top 12 fwd or top 6 dman. - hello it's me 2050
Zamula should eventually crack an NHL top six. The Phantoms are riddled with injuries and NHL recalls so they don't even have all that many Flyers-affiliated players on the current roster. |

Should have said except Zamula. IMO I see him getting moved as part of trade package. Not sure where he fits in the flyers plans. Dont see him on the roster next year based on their retooling mantra.

Bill, I like Yeos assessment on Frost. Prior to last game he seemed to do a lot of floating. If he uses his speed he can create pressure on the forecheck and on the rush. We know he had a good stick and can break up plays. Hopefully he can bring his game to the next level since he’s been stagnant. |

Maybe we are seeing a coach actual be coaching Frost.
He may have always been so far above people in his youth, he never was taught the essentials of the atomic levels of the game to be great in the NHL...

I didn’t understand why JVR was out there. He was as still as a pylon just watching the puck. He never took one stride towards Doughty on the point shot that started the scoring scramble. |

Wheeler just completed his analysis of the Flyers prospects in the Athletic. He lists 11 with a legit shot at the NHL. Of them, Zamula is the only one currently on the Phantoms roster. Like other recent years the Flyers “strength “ is in the quantity of prospects not the quality. Ie no “stars”. |

Read it. Actually had some optimistic views for some of these guys. No elite talent but some guys that definitely should play. |

We dont need anymore 3rd and 4th liners or 3rd pair dmen. Need to make some savvy moves and get a little luck in trades. It can be done i.e. Brassard for Zibanejad. Nothing in our system that fixes our needs |

Cam Atkinson is fun to watch. He's been really good this year. He's more than advertised, imo. Too bad this is his first season here.
Didn't hit 14 losses in a row. Cool. Great job. |

Why are you blaming Sanheim on that?

No stars either for Caps (McMichael has upside), Bruins (except maybe Lysell), Vegas, Avs (after Byram and Newhook), Blues, Pens, Isles, Bolts ...
What do they have in common: significant post-season success in the past several years.
And also goes to show the folly of the " draft and develop" approach. 8 teams, drafting players 7 times each a year + undrafted signees, over a span of at least 3 years to generate prospects for this list. That is close to 200-250 players at least. Scattered across some of the premier franchises of the NHL.
Result: not a single guy who is expected to be a top line forward or a top pairing D.
It's not just Frost and Brink who underwhelm. Its not just the Flyers who cannot develop. Its pretty much the norm, barring a few outliers here and there (currently the Canes). |

Some Giroux trade strategy for y'all musings:
Anyone willing to pay a good price and anyone he is willing to waive for will be a contender. Hence, low draft pick, in what is apparently not a deep draft year. Further, no one is giving up their top prospects for a rental. We need studs like Philly needs good public schools (desperately)
So, gamble on someone who you think might be coming close to ending their status as a contender and may fall significantly next year: Not Canes, Avs, Leafs, Florida.
How about Pens/Caps/Bruins and even Bolts? Aging clubs which might be an injury and fatigue away from dropping significantly. Or an overachiever like Habs last year who might fall through cracks next? And ask for a 2022 1st from those teams? |

I think G garners at least a 1rst and then some. Depends if he accepts a move. I think the Flyers need to be honest with them selves. They are not in a position to throw $ at a 34 year old. It’s sad but true. If you tell G it’s time to end this, if not at the TDL then in the summer, perhaps he agrees it’s in everyone best interest to part ways. Don’t sleep on TO if the can make the $ work. After listening to Fletch and Scott they seem to think this is fixable? With what cap space ? It has to come from somewhere. |

Giroux has a NMC so he will control where he is willing to go. Not sure what makes this a strategy. Flyers should talk to and try to make a deal with every team who considers itself a buyer at the deadline.

First from whom though? Rangers this year or Pens the next? I would go with the latter. |

Agree with that. Nice to see some optimism for a change. I was mildly surprised that Andrae “One of my favourite prospects in the sport today “ was ranked higher than Attard. “I’m not prepared to safely project him into the NHL “. |
