looks to me like travis got nudged a little from behind, and fell down.
- bradster

Sanhiem was falling forward and going down before Iafello's stick was in the vicinity. I think he was trying to grab the puck or something. It was a weak play from a weak defender. What bothered me more is watch JVR just sitting back there and watching it all unfold. Why was he even on the ice in the last minute of a game you are trying to secure???

The Jets are not trading Scheifele.
No need for Roslovic. We have better options within the system IMO.

- Cap437

Just curious who you think are better internal options.

Scheifele has 2 years left on his deal. He will be moved.

Yes, your schtick is getting old. I watched the video again before I replied, you are completely wrong here. That was not interference, Sanheim was weak in slot coverage as he always is.
- jd250

It's really a shame. You don't even realize how this makes you look. The replay is crystal clear. If you want to state that you'd like to see Sanheim stronger on his skates there, you might have somewhat of a debatable point. However it's clear that Iafallo pushed Sanheim's skate out from under him causing him to fall.

I really wish Mike Yeo would stay with the Flyers as head coach of the Phantoms, he would really help the development of our younger players. Probably not going to be an option though.

I don't. Yeo is not good at player development from what I've seen. I want wholesale changes across the board.

Name some names on who you would want at the NHL and AHL level.

I love Scheifele's game and really like Rosolovic too. Wouldn't mind the Flyers acquiring either, or both. But I don't see it happening.

Serious question, why do you think the Jets would be moving Scheifele? He has 2 years left at $6.1M. Prior to this current season he has produced at a point per game rate or better for each of the last 5 seasons. 28 years old. That AAV seems a little low for that level of production to me. If he were available, I think there would be a ton of interest around the league, and I gotta think several teams would be capable of offering a better package than anything the flyers could scrape togehter.

You guys are not watching properly. MJL is right. Watch Sanheim's left skate get pushed out prior to him falling...

Screenshot I am unable to upload directly from phone...

https://m.imgur.com/a/8GCASnT

EDIT: Nvm about MJL being correct. He says right skate. It's the left skate that gets pushed out. Sanheim starts to get wobbly. Then he is nudged on his butt, whacked on right leg and he falls.

You are all wrong. And I said he was correct without reading what he said. So I am wrong too. Good start to the week for Hockeybuzz.

It looks to me like Iafallo gets both skates. The left with his foot and the right with his stick. It does seem a little absurd for one play out of 60 minutes worth to be given such significance but that is the way of this board.

The desperation in this post reeks out. Just another example in a long line of examples of not being able to watch a simple video replay and make the proper assessment. Here is all the evidence I need.

This is a huge reach haha, get the Frank out of here. The guy barely touched him! You can easily see he’s reaching and falling forward on his own. If a guy clips your back leg out you usually fall backwards.

I think we can all agree Carter Hart is at fault. FFS make a save already! AMIRITE?

It’s nice to see him bounce back this year. Unfortunately the team in front of him is still a pile of crap. I really hope folks stop attending these games, a message needs to be sent .

Agreed. He has been really good this year. Actually, if they played closer to the level they did on Saturday I wouldn't hate them so much. They at least looked like they wanted it on Saturday. Still not good hockey overall but at least watchable. That is all I really ask.

I also think seeing some of the younger players play allows me to focus on that and not how bad they are.

Not so Bold prediction: Carter Hart will finish his career with the most wins ever for a goalie in a Flyers' uniform.

Yea agreed, the effort was there . I’m not expecting them to play flawless for 60 minutes, or even drive play for most of the game, but taking periods off is unacceptable. I hope so.

My reasoning is will Scheifele want to resign in Winnipeg? Just a hunch he wont so they will have to move him. Yes there will def be lots of interest I agree. Just throwing some name out who imo are possible targets.

Beats talking about how good Saint Ronnie did......

Sanheim's right skate was kicked out sideways, which caused him to fall forwards. As others have said, his left skate was hit also but I didn't see that. You missed it. It happens.

Edit: Re-watched the replay. As other have said, Iafallo's left skate bumps into Sanheim's left skate putting him as bit off balance. Iafallo then using his stick and knocks Sanheim's right skate out to the side. Clear as day.

It's on a last second game tying goal. Kind of a very important play.

Hart lets a fat rebound off Doughty's shot right into the slot. Sanheim leaves his feet there to play goalie, which is completely warranted because behind him Hart is still out of position, scrambling to get back.

If the guy in the slot actually shoots instead of passes, then we'd all be screaming at Travis for not blocking the wide open net if he stays on his feet.

IMO Hart can't put the rebound there, in that situation. The rest is just quick puck movement (and a bit of luck) by the Kings... no fault of any individual Flyers skater.

Sanheim got knocked down. He didn't leave his feet purposely.

What we really see is confusion on who is covering who. JVR's effort was non existent. Ristolainen tried to clear it out but it hit a stick and went right to Kopitar. Sanheim dove across to try and get to it.

As ClaudeFather says, nobody falls forward if their skates are taken out from the side or from behind. I thought it may have been #19's stick between Sanheim's legs that caused him to fall forward, but the camera from behind the net shows that not to be the case.

He's dropping to his knees to block a shot that never came. I absolve him of all blame.
