yeah I gotta admit that Price or Gallagher being traded to COL and winning a cup over there would be a bit of a mind(frank), especially Price since it would be repeating a rather painful and poopty part of habs history lol - Pat1993
Yup. But some players for other teams...(Neely, Marchand, etc...) could be run down by a passing motorist, and I'd feel worse for the driver and their vehicle...

yeah I get it, and while I definitely wouldn't start hating a guy like Gally for winning a cup elsewhere, I wouldn't necessarily be totally ecstatic about it either...

I was just trying to put in words for non Habs fans... No hating Gally if he won elsewhere... But there are those players you just *hate* (the aforementioned, or, say, Tom Wilson...) that you wish no success ever upon. Ever.

If you really want GySgt Hartman over Maj Payne as your DI, then must you really hate life - Bendecko
oh I wasn't insinuating anything of the sort... but if you find that Major Payne is a better movie than Full Metal Jacket, then you must not know much about life...

You've read me wrong. I wasn't comparing movies. I was comparing which character you'd rather have as your drill instructor.
yes, I know, but you've read me wrong, I was simply sending you back the same kind of insinuation... - Pat1993
I really wasn't insinuating anything at all, but anyway...
I find them both entertaining movies that are both excellent dark comedies. No more, no less, with no real preference over the other for their individual merits. I'll catch either (in parts) if they happen to be on TV. (FMJ is a miss compared to other Kubrick movies, though; particularly "Paths of Glory", considering both being military/war films. Regardless, the book it's based on is a much better read.)
Anyway, nighty-night. Catch you later on after I've had my first cuppa
I get what you are saying Andrew and believe me, i’d love to keep Gallagher, he’s the Hab i collect the most, have 2 game worn jerseys, a game worn helmet, 2 game used sticks and rookie cards worth in the 4 digits but if the man wants to compete and win, it can’t realistically happen here in the time he has left. If however he wants to stay, he’ll stay. But the truth of the matter is, we now know that we can’t win with that much money committed to a goalie and a d core that’s mostly stay at home. If you keep all of those guys hou wont have the money when it’s time to pay up elite talent, like Caufield (fingers crossed he does become elite). So in short, it’s back to the drawing board with emphasis put on the attack.

The problem is that I don't think they can move any of these long term contracts, aside from maybe Toffoli (who is a guy I would keep around). I read yesterday about Hughes saying that he could move Petry if he wants to leave and they find him a destination. Who in their right mind would acquire him right now?
