Harrison + late 1st for Garland is pretty meh though
- Nucker101

Are you saying Lysell + late 1st is a fair deal for Garland?

Tanev Goal and 3 assists tonight. How’d Schenn do?

Imagine Hughes, Seider, Edvinsson in the same organization

But then again, the butterfly effect

Zadina was expected to go top 3 or 4, Hughes was expected to go around the range we got him, I think Detroit was going to take him if Zadina didn't fall. Chicago behind us apparently were pissed that the Canucks took Hughes.

So far BPA has failed besides wingers are not my go to top of the draft.

Honestly have no clue, not too familiar with Lysell. But Harrison is ranked behind him on the bruins prospects rankings lists I’ve seen so it depends on how much better Lysell is, and I have no idea lol

he's probably a douche, but plenty of dbags win cups. Who cares as long as they dont cause locker room issues. Work ethic doesnt seem like an issue to me, ive never seen him get as fat as jake or assault someone like jake

he's definitely more suited as a winger though

i bet mccann gave Don a dirty look at the English bay cactus club bar

I think Miller will age well.
Luv Garlands spunk & contract.
Bo is Bo.
Petey has elite potential.

Brock is expendable if he doesn’t want to be here on a team friendly. His QO is moot & he’s not worth it as a complimentary player. 5/5.5m be my offer.

I have seen Harrison in about 6 games and Lysell in 2 so can't really say either, just that Harrison is also a centre.

Canucks 6 points back of Flames who hold the final playoff spot, but also have 4 games in hand.
Canucks have a realistic chance of finishing 10th-12th in the conference.

Let's hope Rutherford and crew make some good hockey decisions for the future of our Canucks.

Normally I would have but he isn’t worth a latte. Maybe a glass of hot water with one lemon wedge.

Plucking 24 year old Carter Verhaeghe for 2 years at 1M and have him start scoring top 6 out of nowhere.

Forsling off waivers.

Trading for 34 year old Patric Hornqvist

Weird how after missing the playoffs for 3 years, these are the things they did and not sell their best players.

There's a good article on the Athletic about this I can send you if you'd like about the blueprint the Canucks can follow, but the narrative around Florida not retooling/staying the course with mediocrity is wrong.

The boldest moves came at forward though: Florida walked away from both Mike Hoffman (29 goals and 59 points in 69 games) and Evgeny Dadonov (25 goals and 47 points in 69 games) as pending UFAs at the end of the 2019-20 season. That was a very difficult decision because Hoffman and Dadonov were the club’s third and fourth leading scorers respectively — losing them created massive top-six holes considering Vincent Trocheck, the team’s fifth-leading scorer, had already been dealt by last management at the deadline. It would have been very easy for management to look at the lack of top-six talent as justification for paying Hoffman and Dadonov.

Instead, they stripped it down and were left with just two top-six forwards: Barkov and Huberdeau, with cap space gained as a result of their aggressive salary shedding.

Imagine the Canucks letting 2 top 6 wingers walk for nothing? The place would melt down.

What if the Canucks ship out Miller and Schenn for something like Schneider/D prospect and Laf, and then sign Hertl in the off season? Same age as Miller, but now you've restocked with some prime prospects and have a 1C.. win/win for those not wanting to take a step "back"

Ideally Boeser at 5/5.5m is best. His QO I ignore on purpose. He’s a good top 6 compliment but has warts. If he wants 6m+ it’s worth it to shop him. Roster needs more balance as in RHD & LW.
- Nighthawk

When we talk about Boeser's next contract I think about his agent. He's going to push for a strategy to get his client the most money. That probably means Boeser letting his contract expire so he has to be qualified. To me this is simple common sense.

The agents wants to get him the most money (because then he gets paaaaid), but Boeser employs him to he can dictate it. If Boeser wants to get paid, that's the best strategy. If Boeser likes Vancouver, wants to make it work here, he can tell his agent to find a longer term deal with a lesser cap hit.

I could see him signing for something around 6. His comparables are signed around that (Zibanejad, Buchnevich, Point, Gaudreau from last year; Hall, Ehlers, etc this year so far). Boeser having a down year (as are most of the Canucks forwards) might help bring that down a bit

Send it over.

I also would have no problem getting rid of Pearson and Garland but for something.

Key would be they didn't get rid of their top 2 scorers like most in here want too.

Also have no problem buying out OEL after next season and saving 8M in cap space and not having Luongos cap hit or Halaks bonus money or holtby or virtanen. 11M extra to pay for Millers 1.75M raise and Boesers 1M raise and horvats 500k raise. That leaves only about 12M to sign 7 players.
