Sorry Welly, but I have to disagree with you. It is actually quite a bit easier in this day and age with digital manipulation to self produce and not need a contract or studio.

I produced our bands album for free using pirated plug ins and a digital workstation. It turned out waaaaay better than expected especially with me cutting my teeth on analog. I'd imagine it's no different for any musician nowadays. Your hero included.

I would agree, making music is easier. (Tom makes all his own beats). But there are not many indies who go number 1. (all I can think of in the last 10 years besides Tom is Tech 9)

So again, its not easy to top the billboard carts. If you have a different perspective, and facts to correct me, I'm glad to hear it.
