Nearly 8 years after being drafted, Dylan Larkin has become a star for the Red Wings. Pending he can maintain this star production going forward, he becomes the first star forward the Red Wings have drafted since Henrik Zetterberg in 1999. Raymond likely to join next.
Seems to be a thing that most people seem to neglect most often when they think that a rebuild is a 4 year process. |

Why are you paying him 7 mil if he needs a babysitter - VANTEL
What the fvck are you talking about? All elite defensemen need true top 4 partners. Weegar and Ekblad are good, but better together. Hedman is much better with a competent partner, same with Josi, Doughty, etc. Schenn works, but he is not the partner for Hughes if we want an elite pairing.
You always seem to want mediocre players because they hit everything that moves... |

Love the sandbag by Nathan MacKinnon here.
Year 1: I'm real good. Years 2 to 4: I'm pretty good but maybe not the mega talent you thought. Year 5 onward: I was only kidding. I'm real, real good. Watch me go. |

You must have a good crystal ball. You just said it took Huberdeau 7 years but Hoglander will do it in 3 ?
I don't know for sure Miller would walk , do you have a source to back up your certainty? - VANTEL
So i need to crystal ball to think that Hoglander will be better each year? When did I say Hoglander will reach Huberbeau levels in 3 years? I didn't even say he will ever do it. Maybe put down the bottle, you're obviously too drunk to carry on a conversation. |

Miller puts pressure on himself to reward club for having faith to afford him a top-six role. He has never lost sight of that and has repeatedly stated his preference to remain in Vancouver. #Canucks |

I am not the one suggesting to trade Miller for Jonathan Drouin , I mean Lafreniere.

Who was drafted 12 spots behind Huberdeau. JT MILLER.
So I guess it's okay for them to be mediocre just not the Canucks. - manvanfan
You’re comparing their current ages to the Canucks current ages and yet you’re using their old record vs Canucks current record.
And again, if you believe this core is as good as theirs then agree to disagree.
They’ve obviously made some greats moves to supplement their core and the Canucks haven’t but again they also have a better foundation imo |

If that's the case, and we can sign him for 5 or 6 years at 7ish mil, I prefer to keep him. |

So I must be drunk to think than a talent player, current playing behind Panarin(who in the league beats him for 1LW) and Kreidee(currently leading the league on goals) and not on pp1, will produce a lot better getting 1st line minutes and pp1, playing the the most talented players on a team, instead of 4th line talent?
The guy has elite potential, not generational talent... |

What? I've always said to re-sign over trade. I just don't have faith he will. New information stating he likely will obviously changes my stance. |

If you want to trade a top player in the NHL for a middle six player then fill your boots man. I have seen him play and he is about as elite as Kirby Dach

Obviously because NHL teams are not exact comparable to each other at all times.
4 constants vs 1 outlier. I think I'd go with the constants are comparing instead of a signal outlier. |

that's fine, but now that's the first thing people will think about when those teams are brought up
Brent Sopel said the players knew that some of that stuff was going on, that's pathetic |

Not believing he will re-sign, and thinking we are a playoff team for next year and won't trade him. Of course I talked about him walking for free. You were offering nothing to the conversation other than drunken ramblings of trading him at next years TDL. |

I kind of agree. Using Miller as an example, he's always been stuck behind better players. Comes to canucks, gets first line opportunity, has his best season by a +18 point margin. Give some a chance and they grasp the opportunity.
Who knows, the kid might excel if given the opportunity. He was a first overall. They have the best chance of being a good pro player. |

I haven't had a drink in over five years.
I am laughing at your panic mode of he needs to be traded because he will walk for free with nothing valid to back up your statement . Next you want to trade him for someone that will not help this club at all.
Secondly I have not mentioned making the playoffs because I don't even know who will be on the team.
I have said that trading two most active forwards will make this team as dull as sh1t but I didn't take into account that we would be getting superstar Alex Lafreniere and his 10 goals 13 points. That changes everything . |
