I was thinking about your question earlier when every one was talking about trading Miller for Lafrenière. I can't easily fit Alexis into the lineup so it has me thinking if Miller goes this season then there will be more players traded quickly after.

I said before I've changed my mind on Miller. I'd like to try and keep him and maybe look at a Boeser for Lafrenière in some form. Miller can have Boeser's QO money for a couple of years.

Are we weaker next season? Depends on what Laffy does with the opportunity, and if EP and Podk improve.
Are we stronger the year after? Yes

Naturally if Miller will resign, you do that. If he won't, we'll we aren't competing next season, so who cares if we miss what Miller brings. Plan for the season after and a higher pick. Maybe we get lucky and Bedard falls into our lap in 2023. Or one of the other strong picks in the top 5.
