I kind of agree. Using Miller as an example, he's always been stuck behind better players. Comes to canucks, gets first line opportunity, has his best season by a +18 point margin. Give some a chance and they grasp the opportunity.
Who knows, the kid might excel if given the opportunity. He was a first overall. They have the best chance of being a good pro player. - bloatedmosquito
Miller needs to be traded because the team isn’t in a position to win any time soon and the team can’t afford to let another player potentially walk without any return at all. Youth, potential and picks are better than 0️⃣ |

Their window is right now. I mean at this very moment.
Age and cap space will catch up to them without changes to get younger and cheaper. Age means injuries, and todays injuries are more severe because of the speed of the game. You got to have a good mixture with up and coming youth to replace older assets.
That's what we are talking about with Miller. Aging player, wrong competitive cycle, trade and get young talent. Knights got to think about doing that soon if they don't get close this season. |

Most Cup Championship teams are veteran teams, their time is now for sure. |

So if you brought in Lafreniere who is he going to bump off the new top line of Boeser Petey and Horvat?
Who is his set up man that is going to take him from a 15 goal guy to a 25 goal guy?

Thanks Carol
Forsberg is a beauty and this is where I would move Boeser and take a serious run at him or Hertl. Players that bring it every game. Don't waste 7.5 mil on BB and use it for a legit top forward. - VANTEL
Ok but at on what contract? |

Not so great at drafting.
Imagine getting this return for Miller.

If he was 26 years old I’d give him eight million over six years. But he’s not. |

Miller puts pressure on himself to reward club for having faith to afford him a top-six role. He has never lost sight of that and has repeatedly stated his preference to remain in Vancouver. #Canucks - manvanfan

I was thinking about your question earlier when every one was talking about trading Miller for Lafrenière. I can't easily fit Alexis into the lineup so it has me thinking if Miller goes this season then there will be more players traded quickly after.
I said before I've changed my mind on Miller. I'd like to try and keep him and maybe look at a Boeser for Lafrenière in some form. Miller can have Boeser's QO money for a couple of years. |

Detroit is disappointing me. The rebuild was over because Yzerman is the most amazing GM in history of sports.
.405 hockey over the past 21 games though. |

None of them? You listed 2 centres and a RW. Alex is a LW. Petey can pass, so can Garland
Laffy - EP - Garland
Podk - Bo - Boeser
Are we weaker for the rest of the season? Yes.
Are we weaker next season? Depends on what Laffy does with the opportunity, and if EP and Podk improve.
Are we stronger the year after? Yes
Naturally if Miller will resign, you do that. If he won't, we'll we aren't competing next season, so who cares if we miss what Miller brings. Plan for the season after and a higher pick. Maybe we get lucky and Bedard falls into our lap in 2023. Or one of the other strong picks in the top 5. |

NYR want a RW and Laffy didn't work there. Could be where the Garland rumors come from? |
