Strong effort or not, a loss is still a loss.
This is the most underachieving Flyers team I can remember in my 30+ years of watching them.

The team sucks
The team’s management sucks more.
But hey, good for Mayhew the modern day Mike Maneluk. And JJ & Jonesy can F off. It’s one thing to be a company mouthpiece, but the over the top ball washing of garbage players like Seeler and MacEwen is flat out ridiculous.
Please, I’m begging you Brian Roberts, sell the damn team. |

Flyers lost. Gotta clear my schedule to poorly troll Bill’s thread again.

Nice to see Mayhew have some NHL success. Late bloomer and former AHL sniper who probably won’t see much NHL ice after this season. - Minnyhock
Thank God for that |

I know they're bad but their was zero excuse to not at least get it to OT.
I'd like to throw a nod to TK. He looks like the player we know he's capable of being over these past few games. |

You know its pretty hard to lose games in this way by accident, so I'm starting to wonder if Vince MacMahon is working for the NHL now. Its like tuning in to watch an 18 car pile up every night. Its tough to watch as a fan and I can only imagine what the players are feeling. Actually I know how it feels, it feels like someone just removed the middle part of your body. It sucks! I wonder if opposing teams just know they can win anytime they want so they keep the Flyers in the game just for entertainment value. Its really amazing at this point, I have never seen anything like it. |

Why does it suck? You want a higher draft pick. |

That's the thing, there were so many good things last night. The team played great I thought, until the end of course. They controlled the play, had good defensive structure, forced turnovers and generated offense. Mayhew is starting to look like a real contributor as you said. So I was thinking last night as I watched the 3rd the Flyers really deserve this game, and then it all unraveled. Frustrating. |

How was the attendance....
Caps on the goal line was a nice bonus. |

I'm saying as a player to lose like this sucks, there is no worse feeling. Yes I want the Flyers to lose games and get a higher draft pick, but last night I actually found myself wanting them to win. They deserved it, they played hard and they played the right way. I really felt bad for the team last night. |

I think other teams just see the flyers as a borderline nhl team at this point. They’ll play their backup tender to rest the starter and then turn it on when needed to win the game. There’s no need to give a 60 min effort to win. I can’t even bear to watch a full game now.

Just look at that slop lineup. From top to bottom. Slop.
Though the GM is on the case so I expect a quick turn around.

It was mentioned that Mayhew and TK had great games and they did last night, but how about Travis Sanheim. He may suck defensively but if keeps playing offense like that he may actually start earning his money. Great game from him and I really hope he keeps it up. I mean he might as well, there is no pressure to win games at this point so play free and maybe build some confidence. |

I just can’t watch and hope they lose. It’s already clear to me that they’ll finish bottom 5 in the league and will draft high for sure. I’d love to Fast forward to the draft.
Of note, I’m not sure that this team will surpass 06 07 point Total of 56. If you had told me that in October I would have laughed at you. |

Yep and look at that stud Scot Laughton piling up points. Where was he a few months ago when those points were needed and would have made a difference.
I put little stock on what players do once the pressure is off the team is way out of the playoff race.

No, the Flyers don't suck. They didn't just play hard last night, they played well. Their defensive structure was excellent, their skating was excellent, their forecheck and neutral play was excellent. If the Flyers play this way they can play with anyone, even with the depleted lineup. They obviously lost the game in gut-wrenching fashion and clearly the team is lacking confidence in closing games out, but make no mistake, this team does not suck. If you want to watch Suck, watch a Montreal Canadiens game. |

Im not in any way defending how this team has been built. But the fact is no GM or team depth could overcome the amount of injuries to top players this team has. They just don't have the horses. And there are no deals out there to get better players to save this season.
female doging about the lineup is somewhat silly. Anyone who thinks this team, as it is iced currently, should be winning any games is delusional. And as much as I dislike what Comcast and Fletch has done, there is NO GM that could overcome what has happened injury wise.
And don't give me the "all teams have injuries" BS. They all do. And they all suffer from it. Any team that is without its top 5 centers, top 6 wing, 1st and 2nd pair dman, and icing the bottom two lines full of AHL callups is not going to win.
Its been dragging down the level of debate in here for months. Its become a game of gotcha and trying to one up the cleverness of the insults.
If most of you are like this is real life its no wonder the world is going to poop.

guess you didnt have a morning session.
One diff is other teams can withstand injuries to their top players. Flyers cant. Healthy lineup they were not gonna make the playoffs anyway imo.
With all the drafting and developing they did I would think the bottom of the lineup should be a tad better no? So that is a separate issue than the injury excuse.

Sanheim has been their best d man the last few games for sure. When he jumps into the play, he becomes a different player, a dangerous player. When he plays like this he is playing like a top 4 d man. He still seem’s to struggle in front of his own net, but I’ll take games like last night over a lot of what I’ve seen. |

Stop. Name another team missing their top 5 centers, top line wing, and top pair dman. You cant. |
