He was going to be regardless. He's a 3rd pair PP specialist type player. PPP dont improve +/- and 3rd pair Dmen

The reality is +/- is not a good stat to use. Seeler is -1. Doesnt make him any less garbage Yandle.

Only 6 players arent negatives and one of them played 4 games this season. A player gets a minus regardless of whether the GA is his fault or not. All players on the ice get a minus if Hart lets in a weak goal. Thats happened from time to time. Every player on the ice gets a minus when Yandle flubs the puck on the PP and they give up a shorty.

In Yandles case yes it may work out to the fact he hasnt been good but he isnt the only one on the ice at thos times and they take the hit for his mistakes too which doesnt paint the correct picture for the other 4 guys

- xShoot4WarAmpsx

He was going to be what regardless? Yandle still sees over 12 minutes a game on average at ES. Less than the top 4. Yet he is more than double in minus at -28 that the next closest defenseman in Ristolainen at -12. Despite playing more minutes.
Seeler may be garbage but he's better garbage than Yandle is at this point. When there is such as disparity between one player and the rest of the team, then it is valid to look at. Combine it with actually watching him play and it's clear to see that the Flyers all season have been icing a player who should've retired after last season.

Its been dragging down the level of debate in here for months. Its become a game of gotcha and trying to one up the cleverness of the insults.

I wonder if opposing teams just know they can win anytime they want so they keep the Flyers in the game just for entertainment value.
- jd250

Look at the Flyers lineup. Of course every opponent knows they have a very good chance to win, no matter the score, as long as they don't give up.

No doubt balance and smarts is required here, however I think Yeo is a better coach than AV was, no .. I really mean it. Look at how the Flyers are playing right now, with a depleted lineup and a season that is clearly over. They are busting their butts and are playing the best defensively I have seen them play in a very long time. They are committed to the system and you can see that clearly. Yes they make bad mistakes at the wrong times and can't finish games, but that is on the players, not the coaches. I wish Yeo would shorten his bench in crunch time, but overall I give Yeo an awful lot of credit for keeping this team together under these circumstances. Last year coming into March was a very tough time for the Flyers, and AV could not hold the team together, in fact he did the opposite, he managed to get the players to hate him. I think that carried over into this season to be honest. I really don't think the Flyers need 3 top 5 picks, with the core they have and players coming up. I think Fletcher and Flahr have drafted well historically and I believe they can find fast and skilled players. If the Flyers can add two or three young stud players to their lineup, get their veteran core healthy and continue to play like they are right now, they can do some serious damage.
- jd250

The Flyers are in the middle of another losing streak. They're still playing the same poor fundamental hockey under Yeo that they did under Vigneault. They had a 13 game losing streak under Yeo. Yeo couldn't keep a lego set together. Yeo has been terrible.

Team has hit a rough patch this year, for sure, but I would still take him any day over Chucky/Bobby. I think he will be all right. If they let go of Lou, though, Barry's days are likely numbered. I would love to see him here but there is a stink emanating from our organization that is likely to scare off folks with options.
- iamscore2day

Yeah, Lou has become less brilliant but he still is competent. Palms, Zajac, Parise and Chara were all mistakes buy they didn’t break the bank. Palms had some impact in the
playoffs.

What teams are the flyers better then at the center spot in their division? Comical you htink ex selke hayes brassrd are a good enough combo down the middle.

That threesome is in the bottom end of the league.

Yeah so wrong in this case. The have a excellent center group, my bad.

When healthy. Flyers organization loves fans like you. All this talent. Only what could have been if not for the injuries.

Honestly, I felt they should have signed Dougie anyway they could. Also, Uncle Lou clung to Uncle Leo far too long. I don't understand why Wahlstrom did not get more of a look last year.

very true and I think it is his choice, he chooses to make the soft play EVERYTIME

easy question- if he didn't have the streak, would he have been benched this season. Funny thing is I have always liked him as a player, I like his pre-season but I can't stand when someone is intentionally not giving it his all.

As soon as you subtract G from the current roster this team could very well not score 3 goals in a game again this season.

No, I was riffing on your use of the word hobgoblin. Puck (Midsummer Night's Dream) is the most famous hobgoblin of them all.

Actually Seeler is a much better defenseman than Yandle. Yandle allows 3.84 GA/60 at ES, and Seeler only allows 2.62.

RR will be gone by the deadline and JVR most likely in the off season. Mark it down.
- jd250

Who would take JVR? The Flyers would have to eat salary on that deal. JVR was a lazy player when the Flyers drafted him and he hasn't changed. He shows some effort every once in a while, but never consistently.

after the season maybe the usual dumping ground Arizona. They will need to field a team. JVR at half retention may work fr them. Then they move him for a pick at the deadline. Arizona is only hope imo.

Bunnaman was waived. He's a poor mans VandeVelde. Guarantee if it's not with the Flyers he never plays another NHL game again. Wasting their time with slugs like this is a joke.
