Bunnaman was waived. He's a poor mans VandeVelde. Guarantee if it's not with the Flyers he never plays another NHL game again. Wasting their time with slugs like this is a joke. - PLindbergh31
Yeah I’ve seen enough of him. He’s as vanilla of a call up as you can get |

Giroux, Braun, 5th to Colorado for a 1st, Helleson, comphor - Just5
Let’s move on from Colorado. Any 1st they trade will be a future as they don’t pick til the 3rd in this draft. Nothing from this front office tells me they’re willing to be that patient |

I'm almost 100% sure it is a Seinfeld reference. And a very good one I might add.

My heart as a Flyer fan is with you, I want to say losing this season was a blessing to move us forward, we get a high pick and acquire more assets. I see there is a path but getting highly skilled, fast players, where are they coming from? The first one to replace G, then the 2 more they never had coming into this season? CF will have to work some magic and get lucky. You hope the right teams disappoint the rest of the way. Maybe the Oil shxt the bed and move Leon in a Blockbuster. I mean would the oil see the value of a Coots plus for Leon? How about the Jets, I do believe their could be some good trades out there. Only one team wins the cup, it was never going to be the Flyers this season, in hindsight, I will take a top 3 pick. If you don't win the cup, competitive teams are looking for the change that will help them win the cup.
side note-
I don't see Pitt winning the cup, I do think they have peaked already. If not, they will have an interesting off-season, FA's Letang, Malkin and Rust. Then Kap is an RA. That could be a cap crunch or with their luck they will all take a huge discount. All I have left is to root for their demise. - wcorvette
Here is one path to quickly getting highly skilled young players, and I realize its most likely not going to happen but, hey, its all hypothetical right now. You trade G and Risto to the Aves and you get back Newhook and either their 2023 1st round pick or another prospect. You then finish this year with a top 5 pick in the draft and you draft a player like Ivan Miroshnichenko; and you get lucky as he turns out to be ready for the NHL and is as good as advertised. Now you have your 2C and top 6 LW to augment Couts, Cam, TK and Farabee. You are off and running.

The Flyers are in the middle of another losing streak. They're still playing the same poor fundamental hockey under Yeo that they did under Vigneault. They had a 13 game losing streak under Yeo. Yeo couldn't keep a lego set together. Yeo has been terrible. - MJL
If you have been watching these last few games and don't see the Flyers playing much better fundamental hockey, then you absolutely do not know what you are watching. |

that really doesn't move the needle next season. G is gone, relying on 2 young players and have a big hole on D still. It does start to build young talent and I am ok with that.

very true and I think it is his choice, he chooses to make the soft play EVERYTIME
easy question- if he didn't have the streak, would he have been benched this season. Funny thing is I have always liked him as a player, I like his pre-season but I can't stand when someone is intentionally not giving it his all. - wcorvette
Don't look now but Seeler could get the Flyers a lower round pick at the deadline. What is clear watching Yandle this year is I learned how he has been able to play this many games in a row, he literally does not do anything on the ice, literally. He avoids all contact, is pretty much never battling for position and he will be the last player getting in a shooting lane trying to block a shot. If he didn't have this streak he would be out of hockey IMO. |

It does move the needle in the right direction, not saying the Flyers would contend but now you got a veteran core and a good young base to work with and develop. |

Who would take JVR? The Flyers would have to eat salary on that deal. JVR was a lazy player when the Flyers drafted him and he hasn't changed. He shows some effort every once in a while, but never consistently. - Thors-Hammer
JVR seems like a perfect player for Arizona, where they would only have to pay him $2.5M if the Flyers cover 50%. |

What team doesn't? Where does flyers vet core and young base compare to other teams in their division they will have to contend with? |

Oh Oh .. I can see it now. The Aves pick him up off waivers, play him with NAK and he scores 4 goals in the coming weeks. Then at the deadline the Aves get G for NAK and Bunnaman ... ha ha ha |

Yandle has never been known as a strong defender but the player you see today has nothing to do with the player he has been for most of his career.

I'm having deja vu. We've had this similar discussion many times. So the last two games, Yeo has finally gotten through to the team. They've turned the corner!
Yea, that's it. I don't know what I'm watching. |

It’s so satisfying after years and years of saying this team won’t win the the g/Jake core seeing people finally coming around to conclusion this team blows. Never had a chance. Once stupid flyer fans stop supporting poop team changes will be made. Very obvious for years and like I told you risto blows. Ellis move would do nada. |

Honestly, I felt they should have signed Dougie anyway they could. Also, Uncle Lou clung to Uncle Leo far too long. I don't understand why Wahlstrom did not get more of a look last year. - PT21
Is Dougie Doug Weight? I think Lou stuck with Uncle Leo out of loyalty. Leo was a good soldier and did whatever the team asked.

Hamilton.
Also, pretty sure Komarov has been waived at least once the past year or so. So not quite 2 way loyalty there.
They have 2 fast, creative centers in Barzal and Nelson. But their defense is not built for the modern game. |

kind of the point, if you go that way then load up on first picks and just let the roster roll. You won't contend next season or the season after, you might as well sell any player that will not be part of the story 2-3 years from now. CF however is thinking a retool for next season.
I think I would get my best offer for G and Braun and trade RR separately, then re-evaluate my options. They have plenty other players they can trade and add in. I think that is the thread the needle part, how can CF trade and bring back the skill and speed the Flyers need so when he goes into FA he can have a clear pic on what they need. If at that point it is still a stretch to put a team with a better than average chance on the ice, CF needs to collect as many 1st and 2nd's he can and roll forward with what they have.

Or former 1st rd picks or whoever that are close to nhl ready instead of waiting years for a pick to hopefully pan out.
