Is it possible CC is actually on the same page as Chuck and Scott believing they are only a few players away? Therefore he wants to stay? |

The kind of language used by CF when talking about Giroux and the language he used when talking about Risto was very different. I personally see Giroux as good as gone. If he comes back, it might be as a UFA after the rental period ends.

Last thread. The MIN HS hockey tournament didn’t disappoint. Several players will be in the NHL. I was hoping you would take a peek so I could get your impression. Thanks for asking tho.

I think Giroux is going, and I hope so as well. I do believe its between Colorado and Florida, but I don't believe either team is interested in giving up assets for a rental so I think it will come down to which team Giroux wants to extend with. The good news for the Flyers is if Giroux extends, the return they will get for him will be much greater. I still say the Flyers should be asking for either Newhook or Lundell if in fact Giroux extends. Think about it, if this did happen and the Flyers got one of these players, plus add a top 5 pick in draft this offseason, rid themselves of JVR and get back a healthy Ellis and Couts next year, this will be a significantly better team really fast. |

Think about it. That either of those players would help the Flyers get better is not a logical explanation for why Colorado or Florida would give up those players for Giroux. Highly unlikely.

You are as delusional as Chuck and Scott. CC is a luxury for those teams. Not a need. I highly doubt either team will offer an ext at this time as it would be a pure rental.
Also do not see CC extending until he sees what said team is like in all aspects.
The return will be your typical 1strd pick ( 20-230 range), solid prospect, cap dumb, mid rd pick. Something along those lines.

-Hello its me 2050
I don't its delusional at all. Florida, Colorado, Tampa are the clear favorites to win the cup and Colorado just lost Landeskog for at least 1 month, maybe more; and who knows what he will be like when he comes back. When teams are this close to the cup, don't underestimate what they would be willing to do to get the rest of the way. My opinion is G plays his 1000th game this coming Thursday, the Flyers have a ceremony before the game and its a big good-bye to the fanbase after the game. Then the next day Friday G is traded to one to Florida or Colorado. I hope you are wrong regarding what the Flyers get back, because they need this trade very badly to work out. |

Prepare yourself to be disappointed. All along you've been claiming that this move is critical for the Flyers. It's not. It's a trade to get some future assets but the Flyers future does not rest on the Giroux trade.

It comes down to the hear and now. Do either of these teams with an extended G feel like that pushes them over the top? If the answer is yes they will have to give up their 3rd line centers right now, and that is either Newhook or Lundell. You are not going to trade for G and play him down in your lineup. I'm not saying its a lock, all I am saying is if G extends, the Flyers have the ability to ask for a lot more, and frankly I don't think Fletcher wants a late 1st round pick or a marginal prospect. Fletcher wants players that can play now and have a top-end talent ceiling. So if he gets Colorado and Florida in a bidding war for Giroux, who blinks first and gives Fletcher one of these two players? I say its Colorado because of Landeskog's situation. |

Has anyone seen an update on Wade Allison? I see he didn’t play in the Phantom’s game last night. I know he had cut his hand the game before but I’m believe he returned and played well after that injury.
He would be a nice addition if he can stay healthy. |

The Flyers have to take advantage of this bad season if they want to significantly improve going forward, and trading at the deadline is a critical step, as is picking in the top 5 of this year's draft. As I posted previously, there is no top-end talent on this team, even if and when Ellis and Couturier come back next season healthy, and there is really nothing in the system that is imminent. The Flyers have as Fletcher states good pieces, including good young pieces under the age of 25, but no top-end talent. You can only go so far with "good pieces". This trade and the draft are two golden opportunities to improve their chances of obtaining a high end player. Fletcher can't blow this! |

No, it doesn't come down to the hear and now. Giroux is going to be a rental and it is extremely unlikely that either Florida or Colorado trades either of those players for Giroux. Sakic is a smart GM and he is not going to panic because Landeskog got hurt. The are safely in the playoffs and Landeskog is due back.

Knowing his luck, Allison's hand probably fell off while he was sleeping and they are trying to figure out how to glue a new one on so he can play again. It's just a flesh wound you know.... |

Its not about making the playoffs in Colorado, its completely about winning the Cup. As GM would you take the risk that Landeskog comes back 100% and ready to go for the playoffs? Wouldn't you want insurance? My ENTIRE point here was the G is NOT a rental, he is singing an extension, and IF he does sign an extension the Flyers can and will ask for much more than a pick and prospect. |
