If Chiarot is worth a 1st + prospect, then I think Pettersson should get a massive haul. |

Dumo would get us something insane. Top pairing shut down veteran D. All the picks would be ours |

Been saying that for a bit now. I can't see how he can make much of a move at the moment. I think the off-season is when we see all the shuffling around. - Rinosaur
I'm going to say it again, Hextall has a much greater chance of winning the Cup this season than he does of being our GM by the next time the Pens are ready to compete. Off-season shuffling around when his stars are 35/36 is useless. I'll be pissed. He should be ALL in. I'm not asking to something dumb like what FLA did today, but get a scoring wing in here. Hell, even though I don't think "reunion tours" work, I'd be interested in bringing Kessel back.

He won't get a us a massive haul but we can sure use him and Kap to add a forward. |

Lol, wasn't sure. But there will definitely be a trade. Petts and Kap may both be gone. |

I honestly think that probably happens, but not until the off-season.

For what it’s worth Yohe said in his mailbag that people in the FO believe Letang leaving for Montreal this offseason is a real possibility and if he had to bet money he thinks we keep Malkin and Rust and lose Letang - Victoro311
If that’s actually true then you just tell Letang Malkins not getting resigned and to name his price. I really can’t see Letang wanting to go to a poop team just because they speak his original language, but who really knows. |

If Crosby and Malkin never get a 20 game stretch of being linemates it will be such a shame. |

I'm ok with Pettersson landing us a huge haul. It would help free up space to resign Letang, Malkin, and Rust. It would also give us additional assets to make another trade.
As a side note
Thefourthperiod has a linked to Kubalik, Bertuzzi, Boeser (to a lesser extent), Garland, Kessel (to a lesser extent), and Rakell.
They did not have us linked to Chiarot. Which I think we all can agree landing a LHD wouldn't make sense. |

Petterson is not landing us a huge haul,.he is a #5 dmen that has been scratched the past 2 games with $4 mill cap hit. He is avg dmen at best, no offense, no physicality, he is just avg and little overpaid. |

That was a joke, my man.
That said, I don't know how I feel about Kubalik. He's kind of in the same boat as Kap and we really don't need another question mark.

I know, but with Chairot landing what he did. I do wonder if Pettersson would have some value. |

I'm not sure you can directly compare rental trade prices vs. hockey trade prices. It's a different market.
I think in a regular/hockey trade situation, Pettersson is probably worth a 2nd + OK prospect. |

I mean, a 2nd and a prospect plus the cap space is a huge haul to me for him lol. |

Quit it with the Malkin slant. We have enough cap space to let both Malkin and Letang name their price and just lose Rust, which we would 100% do if one or both are playing hard ball. If Letang leaves it’s because he wants to and there’s nothing we can do about it. Nothing to do with Malkin, who’s doing exactly what you want him to and taking a pay cut. |
