It should. The Flyers game should have put the kibosh on any delusions of grandeur any of us might have been feeling.

Where’s all the rumors? Who’s coming to the Islanders?

Anyone who thought this team still had a shot at the playoffs before yesterdays game doesn’t deserve to be heard anyway

I think in a six or seven role Greene can still be serviceable, if paired with the right guy. Same would go with Chara but there's no way I want both. I think Chara has been extremely helpful with Dobson's development and would love to see him work with Salo and/Bolduc.

If Greene was actually in a genuine 7th defenseman role I'd be OK with it, but I'm not totally sold that his role would be that diminished. I could live with him as a 6th if we went out and made a big splash (ie: someone like Chychrun) and needed a cheap guy to fill the last open spot.

Yeah, I'm with you there. I'm even okay with Chara there, which I know many of you are not, since he adds a physical deterrent that I think is lacking from our blueline and while painfully slow hasn't been quite as awful over the past 20 games or so.
Chychrun could be a great add and there are already rumors floating around about him. As I said earlier, we need to address a top line wing and top four dman between now and next season. I would bet that happens this summer and not today

I don’t think Chara has been as bad as most of the internet GM’s think. I totally agree he has helped Dobson’s developement and think that’s a great point.

Looking at that 'useless stat' +/- (which can be true at times) and the disparity between Pelech and everyone else is crazy.
Pelech +22
Next closest is Dobson and Chara at +6. Martin and Zeeker are the only other regulars registering above sea level (unless you count Bellows). Yeesh

Additional: Clutterbuck at -7 when his linemates are pluses is no bueno. Beau at -8. Team worst....Andy Greene and Aho at -9

LeBrun: "Not that there was really any great danger of it happening I don't think, but all signs point to Filip Forsberg staying put in Nashville."

Well, that .00098% chance disappeared. Bummer

Beau is an excellent two way player this can’t be true. He does so much out there.

Haha. Hopefully that line with Nelson and Lee sticks for a while. Lee is better suited to play with him than Bailey IMO

Nelson, Lee, and Bailey was a good line for a stretch wayyyyy back when. Point being Nelson and Lee has worked before. I believe there’s a winger better suited for Barzal out there somewhere…
