I think the only possibility to have made a splash is if we dumped a contract, aka Monahan. And then there's the upsetting the chemistry aspect if Tre had of found a trading partner. I didn't think we'd see a centerman but thought we'd get a D-man. I guess Sutter has enough confidence in this crew with Stone as a back up not to have made a deal there. I would have liked to seen Kulak back here.

Meh, we know the roster and though we gave up a bit of the future in draft picks, hopefully now we finish strong and go into the playoffs with some confidence. This team actually likes like the read deal.

We could be the Oil or the Nucks that didn't really solve any of their gaping issues.

I don't know if you've been paying attention, but the Oilers are the hottest team in the league right now and have fixed their issues. They're extremely likely to be the Flames' opponent in the second round.

Their goaltending and defense is still their biggest issues and they didn't do much to address either. They have lot of firepower up front though...wouldn't want to get into a track meet with them.

Just because the Oilers have won 5 in a row doesn't mean they are the hottest team in the league right now. There are quite a few teams that have a better winning % in the last ten games then the Oilers. Are you a closest Oilers fan...?

So what, look at their competition the last 5 games. They win 5 games & all their problems go away????? Seriously, you seem to usually post more knowledgable than that. look at their previous 10-15 games.

-Not going to miss Richardson on the ice but with the theme of trying not to subtract any guys from the dressing room it sucks to see a guy who I imagine was a part of establishing Sutter’s culture go.

-As far as carpenter goes I expect to see him as much as much as we’ve seen Richardson which is not much. Probably will be used for matchups requiring more defensive players.

-I would have liked to have seen us pick up a depth defenceman but with the market price for such looking like a 2nd round pick it was wise of Tre to stay away from a player that wouldn’t have even cracked the lineup.

-As far as Mony goes, nothing legit but I thought I saw some people say Boston might have interest which had me curious this morning on a 1 for 1 swap with debrusk and letting him walk in the off-season but that was quickly nuked with the extension.

Either way it might be for the best to not remove a guy from the locker room for now, seravalli said there is a trade a trade market which leaves me more optimistic about our salary cap situation this summer.

Their goaltending's stabilized and they've beating multiple teams that the Flames lost to during their streak. They're clearly the second best team in the division if their goaltending holds up.

Hopefully with some consistent line mates he will improve, but Carpenter was not well liked in Chicago. A big part of that is the things he was supposed to be good at (defense, match-ups, etc) he really didn't live up to, and in many cases he was worse than other guys on the Hawks (let that terrorize your thoughts for a minute).

I will fully admit that the Hawks are a disaster right now, and there is very little consistency anywhere, but I wouldn't expect much more than you were getting out of Richardson.

Kosikinen playing well for a stretch of 8 games isn't fixing the issues. That lineup outside of two guys does not scare a lot of opponents...

Hey! Not bad surviving, had a bit of a scare a few months ago but rebounding slowly. Getting a bit excited about this Flames team, getting that 2004 feeling, we'll see if the stars can align & the magic happens this year.
How about you?
