Colin White!!! - Kevin Francis
Lots of good individual performances.
But, can't ignore just how good Forsberg has been and what a difference it makes when the team gets some support from their goaltending.
Interesting Forsberg has a better GAA and Save percentage than Hellebuyk who is regarded as one of the elite goalies in the league.

The Jets look like they got caught looking ahead of Ottawa and off a big win over Vegas. Classic letdown spot. Forsberg hasn't seen much rubber in the 3rd.
You do realize Hellebuyck has played 56 games and is 1st in the league for starts, 1st in the league in minutes played, first in the league in shots faced. Forsberg has played just over half the amount of games(29) that Connor H has played, that would have something to do with his Forsberg's numbers. You cant compare the two, sorry.
Has Forsberg played well tonight, yes but he really wasn't tested(as I was typing it like Johnson said he wasn't tested lol) as I think the Sens defense has had more balance tonight than most of the year. This was easily Brannstrom's best game this year. Look at his stat line, 1 assist, +1 and 5 SOG, 21:17 TOI, 2nd on the blueline in TOI.
The funniest part about tonight was Zach Sanford, invisible yet again but now doing it for the Jets! |

Ottawa outplayed Winnipeg, the Jets looked quite average tonight.

MDZ has looked very solid in his 2 games back with the team too! Hamonic was steady and looked fine for a guy who hadn't skated since Sunday.

Sens are 15-13-2 with Forsberg in net this year. They are 8-23-3 without Forberg in nets. Clearly the team performs to a better result when playing in front of him.

Other than that time when Ehlers walked right through them for a dangerous shot I also thought they both played well. |

I've stated this since Nov. that they play harder in front of him but please don't compare him Hellebuyck numbers when one has played almost double the games!

Teams will get their chances, it's limiting the big plays.

I dont know how many listened to the pregame show tonight on TSN1200, but Gord Wilson let it out of the bag that Mete asked for a trade just before the trade deadline. They asked the team if they could seek out a team on their own that might want to trade for him, but naturally nothing materialized. Dreger let it out a few weeks ago that Brannstrom asked for a trade too early in the season. |

Ok. Gibson is 17-21-9 with a 3.09 GAA. Forsberg has better numbers. The Sens play well in front of Forsberg. Not so good in front of the other guys.

But Dorion has stated they want to move on from White. I'm telling you, if Colin White could stay healthy all year next year and get to play with consistent linemates, he would be just fine here. A guy that can play wing or center, so versatile....but PD will trade him this summer, just watch and see.

Ive wrote about it numerous times, Murray doesn't like PD or DJ, he doesn't like the defense that much either and the players in turn don't like Murray. There's a reason he isn't with the team at all, again, right now...and it's not all injury related. I will write about it soon enough once my sources say its ok to do! |

With all the injuries in STL, Logan Brown played 8:23 and got an assist. He's now at 23 games! 7 more to go to get that 4th round pick back. |

Tierney - Let him go to UFA
Gambrell - Let him go to UFA
Ennis - 1 year 900K or let go (I'm good either way)
Gaudette - like to keep 2 way
Joseph - sign 1 year @1.25M
Colin White - I like the guy. Not worth 4.75m but I think if his cap hit was 1m lower, we wouldn't talk about him much. He has 7 points in 14 games this season. I would really watch his game the remaining of the season
Erik Brannstrom - trade him!
Michael Del Zotto - let him go!
Dylan Heatherington - see above
Nikita Zaitsev - please shred this contact or trade for anything
Formenton - 2 years @2.75M
Norris - 8 years $ 61 m deal is fair. No way he should get more than Suzuki |

I hope not. Unless the deal is fair (and that is dependent on $ coming back as well as the value on the ice) |

Ok.
A decent game, but I think Jets fans would agree it wasn't so much Ottawa winning that game as it was Winni losing it.
I like MDZ and Hamonic together. lets make that a permanent pair right into next year. Two veterans who know what they're doing. One a puck mover with some offensive upside, the other a more stay-at-home with some size.
The issue with Melnyk from my sources was that he began pounding his new liver the same way he pounded the old one.
