What about Gustafsson from Chicago?

https://www.capfriendly.c...m/players/erik-gustafsson

Swedish, league experience - can mentor both Dahlin and Power. More suited for the 3rd pairing.

He's a LD

Has he played any Rd before

IAM down with grumbranson as a 2 nd paring
Rather not spend that money on a 3 rd pairing guy is all iam saying
Luke Sheen is more in line

And all this talk about power's partner
And do we even have dhalens yet

- Anderdog

I like Schenn too. We can get tied up in ‘names’, but it is the style of the player & what they can do for our pairings that we can all (pretty much) agree on.

Edit: I watched Calgary play last night and he stuck out.

Lmao you’re gonna have to overpay 2-3 mil more to attract any player after how terrible management treated Eichel

That's the big one, to me Powers partner is the easy one, getting Dahlin's is the tougher get.

How is acquiring a defensive partner for a player that has never worn a Sabres uniform, easier than finding a partner for dahlin?

Both are going to be 25 minute guys

Kravstov alone is better than Krebs
- rangerdanger94

Draft position only bud. See he’s finally scoring at a higher then .5 ppg clip in a league better then Canada AAA. Cool stuff.

Um, no. Your dude isn't even in the AHL, he's still in Russia having a meh season, and had 15 points in 39 games when he was in the AHL 2 years ago.

Krebs had 25 in 25, and is having a solid rookie year in the NHL with 14 in 31 with the Sabres.

Are you running some kind of campaign?

I'm not a huge joker fan, but dahlin seems comfortable with him?

Comfortable and mediocre doesn't do anything for me.

Down the line, in no way should Power be playing 25min a night next year. You can still take your time with him even playing on the big club because Samuelsson will be able to eat 20min a night. Power can start on the 3rd pair and learn from a caggy vet, who in no way should cost as much as a 1RD

Yeah, he would show him the ropes. Hoping to find someone that can do that and take care of him in case of liberties taken.

Yes it did, so let me explain why I said 12. If Power & Dahlin earn 25 a night, that leaves 10 for the 3rd LD. I have never paid much attention to minute pairings, so if one double shift, the RD partners could all play 20 mins theoretically.
- sammysam13

If we're talking next year, or even the year after, there's no way Power should or will be getting 25 minutes a night, unless you want him to be in a position to fail.

Gudbranson is playing 15 minutes a night at even strength, which is 3rd pair minutes. The other minutes are mostly on the PK, which makes sense for his role.

If it costs $3.5M per for 2 seasons to get Gudbranson to sign, who cares about the money?

He would have a large impact on instilling yet more toughness for the team, and a 3rd pair of Power - Gudbranson could reap rewards as soon as next season.

No definitely not. I am looking at a long-term possibility. How long did it take Hedman? Whatever the answer, that long.

Agreed, which is why a 2 year stop gap partner at whatever the contract cost makes sense.

Put him in a position to succeed, not fail.

To add on, I think a lot of these projections can only be thrown out using another player as a suitable example. I am sold on Certain players (Fiala, Gibson) but all the names that have been tossed out can or should pull 17-20 minutes a night on RD and Samuelsson still needs to play
