Why wasn't the Flyers' biggest veteran addition mentioned, Ryan Ellis? Slated to be the #1 all-purpose RHD, he played 4 games this year. I agree that the trade addressed each team's weakness. Saying Columbus is better than Philly this year isn't saying much.

The flyers were missing their 1D and 1C for most of the year and their 2C for half of the year. They were average before the injuries but I’m not aware of too many teams that can absorb those types of injuries and still be successful.

Players are more valuable to other teams, than their former teams. In this case, the Jackets are ahead of Philly in the standings and Voracek has made a bigger impact on his new team than Atkinson. FACTS!

One of those trades where it was good for both teams. Philly needed some more goal scoring punch with Atkinson brings, CB needed a playmaker and Jake brings it. I love Jake, happy he is doing well there. Both teams going through some challenges to get back into contention.

Can't say that I agree with the take. Cam at 2.5 mil less AAV, with an extra year, seems like the much better side of the deal to me as an outsider.

Love the feedback and heat everyone is bringing. By no means am I a Flyers hater; I grew up with the Forsberg and Gagne roster through the Richards and Carter cup finals. Voracek was an Elite Flyers member as much as Atkinson is a legend in Columbus. The roles they feel work for the team. But based on one year, the standings are doing the talking. Injuries are not an excuse. Columbus and Philadelphia have been both hurt squads this year. Maybe next year it’s a different talk? But after one season and two games against each other of 3, Columbus won the trade and the games.

Adam Oates is one of the best playmakers in hockey history and is a HHOFer. Voracek is a very good playermaker, not exactly HHOF material. Also, Adam Oates never scored less than 22 goals in his prime (save for the 2 seasons he missed significant time due to injuries and the lockout season). But keep going, great comparison.

In reality Flyers would be no better with Jake as they are with Atkinson and the shake up in the locker room was thought to be needed (though I think Jake was important to the team chemistry) I have no issues with Cam as I love his energy and game and he has been one of the few highlights to this season, but Jake has held his own well in Columbus and deserves credit for it

Cam leads his new team in goals, points, and is top 5 for +\- on a team that is -66.
