From what I gather is that he has always been mostly a forward playing defense. A guy who puts up a ton of points but is terrible in his own end. Kind of like a dime store Paul Coffey lol.
He has great raw skills, but is completely clueless on how to play his chosen position. - MBFlyerfan
+/- is not a proper stat to judge players. Last night Attard had his guy behind the net, Thompson and Connaughton didn't cover the guy standing next to the Hart. Caps score and Attard get a minus 1, is that fair?
I mean a guy could be coming over the boards, puts one skate on the ice and the other teams scores and the guy gets a minus. Is that fair?

I kind of disagree, but maybe not. I think +/- is a very viable stat over the long term. Just look at the Flyers for instance. You have Yandle and JVR as the worst +/- guys on the team. That makes sense doesn't it? In a small sample size it may not be as telling, but Attard looks like he is out of position quite often from what I have seen. |

Well neither are Connaughton, Seeler, Yandle or anyone on the Phantoms so whatever. I don't care enough to get into a drawn discussion on it but can you legitimately say he is not in the top six talent wise for d-men in the Flyers organization? That is the real issue. - mickel25
Doesn't matter as not talking about those guys. He is overmatched. Zamula is head and shoulders better and should be playing. Take a look at Hogberg. 2 guys who have put in the work
I get why Attard is playing however; part of his deal to sign
Yes I can say he is not a top 6 talent on the flyers at this time.

Yes I get that. Only reason why he will still play. Let him sit a game and take a view watching as cant hurt.

The way he got deked out of his skates last night on that play that wasn't even a deke was pretty bad. It looked like a beer leaguer somehow got lost and went to the wrong rink.

I love that they brought in Nate Thompson to be a strong defender, and he concedes more goals per minute at 5on5 and ES than anyone on the team who has played at least 100 minutes.
Of all the washed up vets to wear the Flyers sweater in the past decade, Thompson and Yandle are quite possibly the worst. |

I’m trying to not pay attention to that stat. To me he just looks a tad over matched in some of these games. I’d rather the Flyers find out now about the player and see what they are working with going forward….as mentioned earlier, Thompson and Brown were both -4 and on for one of the pp’s against. That can’t happen. 4th lines aren’t out there to provide offence, but to get worked over that badly all night is (frank)ing beyond comprehension….and our clueless coach kept riding them. I watch young teams like Buffalo and Ottawa, and although they don’t have the talent of their opponents every night they still have a structure….Flyers have none. |

Hogberg is hurt. Last game was 3/19.
Zamula would be better than Attard or Connauton, but they wasted recalls and now only have one left.

It appears as if they play with no structure whatsoever. I mean, I know lack of talent is an undeniable factor, but this team often looks as if they aren't being coached. At least last night's game had to determine Yeo's fate. Just flush all these coaches down the toily and find someone that will COACH this team!! Thanks! I don't think I've ever seen a goal in the NHL like last night's 5th goal. There was no one within 30 feet of a guy standing directly in front of the net. Oh, I forgot. Jones was right next to him. WTF! An abomination I say! |

Hogberg they could have given a look at earlier. My guess is they do not view him as a legit NHL prospect.
Even with 1 left Zamula has earned it. Now he wont get called up mind you. I think Bill said some things in the last week they were not happy with his conditioning or what not when he arrived at camp, or something to that effect. Basically trying to justify the flyers ineptness.
I think most know why Attard is playing. At some point regardless what was promised you need to talk to the kid and advise what is best in the bigger picture.

Moving deck chairs on the titanic. If they brought up Zamula to play along with Attard I would be fine with that. If you are playing Connaughton, Seeler or Yandle you cannot justify sitting anyone else. Even for one game. Those three players are not NHL players and have no chance of developing into one.

Seeler is a better option than Attard. Not even close. Seeler was signed as a 7th dman at best. He was forced into a role. He has exceeded expectations in said role. Overall you cant ask anything more from what seeler has provided. Seeler > Attard easily.
Attard has no business playing games in the NHL at this point. Zamula is a better option than Attard. It really is that simple. You disagree.

Very disappointed in Attard. He just looks lost, and he needs to go down to the AHL and learn basic positioning. I really think he has the tools, but he seems to have no idea where he is supposed to be on the ice. - Phillywhiteout
I'm not disappointed but I agree with you - he's lost right now and needs to go down and learn how to play hockey with men.
Is Hart officially hurt or has he just collapsed mentally yet again? Growing concerns about his mental makeup if he isn't hurt. He's never lost before cause he was used to winning at all of the other levels he played, but he better learn to buck up. At least this guarantees that Yeo won't be back. Thanks!
He's hurt - possibly multiple nagging injuries. I do not worry about his mental makeup - he's solid there.

Anyone surprised? Lmao all 5 men high leave player 1 on 1 with goalie. Might be worst unbelievable goal I’ve ever seen - Stayin alive
That was ridiculous. I hope Jones was yelling for help. Roman Cechmanek would not have put up with that crap. |
