Right, if they win it. If they pick second or third and Wright is off the board that could be a good thing. Whoever it is i hope they keep him out of the lineup and finish at the bottom next year too.

When they re draft 2022 in a few years i think Wright wont be the best player. This management group seems to like thinking outside the box. I expect them to trade the pick or go off the baord a little.

that doesn't tell me what you think the habs should get in return... an older/closer to being ready prospect? because if that's the case chances are it'll be for a prospect who is currently struggling, teams are gonna want to keep their young players who are doing well.

we very rarely see this but it is still a possiblity, especially in a year like this one where the #1 guy is not a McDavid.

the flip side is that since there's not much difference between the top 4-5 ranked prospects... teams should not be interestined in paying a big price to move up.

I mean, it's not impossible to see Lafrenière taking a bit more time and flourishing into a great player, but personally I find the additional pressure of playing in MTL is something he doesn't need right now for his development. also I'm not aware enough of the flaws Wright needs to work on to brush him off as an option to keep in MTL
