We'll see what happens and since you're normally wrong, that bodes well for Carolina. Carolina was 25-12-4 on the road this season. The most road wins in the NHL.

playoffs are much different than the regular season. We will see what happens.

So, they happened to lose 3 games against Boston, and suddenly they are bad on the road? You realize they have a better away record for the year than all the remaining teams in their conference?
- PT21

I am just telling you what I have observed in this series against Boston. Carolina was a completely different team on the road than at home in this series. They took really dumb penalties at times and played scared at other times, and once they got behind they couldn't come back. I was not impressed with their top offensive players in this series, especially Aho and Svechnikov. Even in game 7 it was Domi with 2 goals and an assist and the Bruins had plenty of grade A chances to steal that game but they couldn't convert. At home Carolina was a good defensive team for the most part when they could match lines. Their penalty killing was excellent especially their structure to defend zone entries. Overall Carolina is obviously a good team, but I don't think they have the fire power to beat a Florida or Tampa. But who knows, injuries play a big part in the playoffs, for example Point is out for Tampa right now. I surely think Carolina is capable of beating the Rangers or Pittsburgh, and then face the winner of Tampa and Florida.

Personally I think the Devils SHOULD draft one of the defensemen or trade the pick, but they will most likely do what Edmonton did when they had tons of high picks and continue to draft forwards because they couldn't pass up on them.

Most likely they will draft Slafkovsky and it will push someone out like Holtz.

- Glak18

If there is a player that the Flyers really want I would hope they would be aggressive and trade up to get him. If that player is gone I can also see the Flyers trading down a bit to obtain another pick in the 2023 draft. If they still where they are they should get a really good player, that is, if they can actually develop him.

I don’t want to hear anyone say Matthews is better than McDavid ever again, complete nonsense. Guy was invisible last night. And the Selke talk is garbage, Marner is much more a Selke candidate over Matthews.

I think both MacD and Matthews played well in the 1st rd, but neither Matthews nor Marner are even close to Selke candidates. That's just Canadian media pumping their tires. Watched every sec of that series and neither of those guys are Bobby Clarke or Bergeron in their own end. When they actually hang out in their own end long enough to play d that is. Matthews now takes the body a bit more than before you can’t score 60 goals while hanging out around the redline and be considered a selke candidate.

When you have to throw the money they have at Dougie Hamilton or trade for PK Subban think he’ll be the answer, yes you probably should draft the best possible defenseman you can. I hope you’re right.

You know what, I do think Matthews might be considered for the Selke someday. There is a lot of defensive plays he makes that looks so easy. Matthews just walks up on puck carries and takes the puck away like no other. He’s pretty positionally sound.

If you watched that series and can’t see that Marner is better in his own end and all around defensively then you don’t know hockey. Look at his work on the PK, he’s a hound on the puck.

agree to both. i didnt have cup aspirations but winning this series would have been cool. sucks to likely have the music stop in this sort of fashion.

I agree when he is actually in the zone, but he has not changed his game the way Crosby did for instance. He will eventually learn that Richard trophies are completely irrelevant.

His stick work is great and he is now very physical, but he is off to the races far too early still.

chuck is a savy GM, what would it take to move to 3 in your opinion.

If they can develop? didn't chuck revamp the entire organization?

yet 4 years later and still a bottom feeder. Also disagree as it is both drafting and development.

Looking at the drafts fro 2014-18. Who have the flyers failed to develop? Now keep in mind I am talking at the AHL/junior level right now. The Pro level is a diff conversation.

Seems to me there are more just "bad" picks. Guys like Bunnyman Vorobyem Sushko and the like just were not good enough. Ratcliff was always a project and he progressed this year. Allison and Tanner only been in the system for a year and they look ok. Granted they developed at college.

NAK and Freidman maybe are 2.

You didn't try to tell us what you observed in the series. You made a blanket statement. You are obviously uninformed and ignored the 41 game sample of road games where Carolina won the most road games in the NHL but you claim they're terrible on the road and can't match up.

Matthews may very well be the best all around player in the NHL. He's in the top 5. It's not Canadian nonsense.

I struggle to imagine the mind that believes that scoring 60 goals is irrelevant.
