so goalie, bottom 6 and powerplay
which I think all are going to be changed ...significantly in the off season.
sounds like exactly what you are asking for - senstroll
Powerplay requires a core piece. And properly addressing all those needs requires restructuring our cap in a significant way. Not just bandaiding again. |

I disagree.
They have been staying with the process.
Heavy rumours they wanted a top6 with jam last season.
They have their own 1st this and next season. Kerfoot coming off a high season. Teams like VAN and PHI have their own reasons to shed some quality players. Looks like it will be easier to do...and Dubas is more willing. - Santo_44
Sorry I wasn’t saying Dubas would make a Hail Mary. I was more referring to the comment of a “Kawhi moment” being a huge one time attempt to win the cup. Raps got lucky and it worked but they had way more flexibility to do it. Leafs don’t have that big move available unless something really big happens and that doesn’t happen without some players lifting trade protection. |

His game 7 usage tells you what Keefe thinks of him, I'd have to imagine. 3 shifts... ouch. - dozerD10
Well he's not the one you want out there to score a goal.

so the leafs are trading Nylander for Crosby...cool - senstroll
Not at all what I'm saying..
Plus, the Raptors added in a young player in Poetl and a 1st rd draft pick if not mistaken.
I just think that the comparable the Leafs have to DeMar DeRozan is Willy Nylander.
Maybe a package deal, like Nylander, Robertson and a 2023 1st

What team would pay big for Campbell though if he wants to be a 1A starter at least? Most teams have "their guy" or just poopty guys who can't be moved locked up longterm.
Penguins?
Wild? (no cap space lol)
Sabres most likely to get UPL some more time
Not sure what he can expect. - AdamFrench
Ken Holland still exists.

I think the PP design is as much of an issue as those on the PP. They are way too reliant on the pretty back door play or 'bumper pass for a snipe" on the PP which works in the regular season but as we know definitely does not in the playoffs.
So you need a real threat from the point, a guy with an absolute bomb who can either let it howl and you look for a goal on him beating the goalie or a tip or a rebound and if teams have to respect that shot it opens up the other plays much more.
Lot of folks here saying GIO on PP1 made it look much better than Reilly (I agree) because of that threat but the guy came over trade deadline and didn't see PP1 time until way late in the year/playoffs so not nearly enough time for others to adapt their pp game.
I guess we will see how it plays out but Reilly at the point on PP1 is pretty m'eh the majority of the time.

im just messing, I think the raptors comp is dumb.
I can see how 1 player can change everything in Basketball.. its not the same in Hockey.
1 big move rarely works out that way

For the goalies in here you can label that one "RVH FAIL"! For non-goalies it's something way more NHL goalies are doing that is just so fundamentally flawed and lazy / stupid and for the life of me I can't figure out why goalie coaches aren't fixing.
Being down when the puck is anywhere outside of the trapazoid (and even then not every time) just begs for this, shooters are far too good in the NHL to give them that space and not expect to get sniped or sniped off the head and in.
If Ottenger is not down there that shooter sees no net to shoot for at all. |

I thought signing Bergeron to a 1 year deal so he can teach Wright was our plan.

Kraken may win before the Leafs. |

its a 1M raise it really isnt huge at all.
Friedman said around 2M. I am sure he has heard internal talks about their contracts. Its best to prepare for it because its unlikely they get either of them to agree to 300K raises. Especially if its for more than a year. - Santo_44
It's not for one player but as whole its huge.
I agree if the contract are 2 years, then I can see 3mil contract for both (1.5 mil cap hit but with a higher 2nd year pay out). year 1 = 1mil; year 2 = 2mil something like that. |

Holland would definitely do a stupid deal if he could. But the oilers are (frank)ed cap wise. They have 7.2 mill in projected cap space next year and have to resign Yamamoto, Pulj, Kane if they want him. They’re hooped. |

Just watched Thompson lose his stick in the 1st period, scrum, puck all around out front. Normally you’d see the butterfly without a stick. Nope…he preferred to play upright. |

trade willy to the kings for some prospects and picks (saw mentioned on twitter) makes sense, they are on the upswing and need some scoring. They have one of the best Prospect pools
sign Bergeron to replace Willy with his cap.
ah dreams
