Not sure if you are aware but Calgary was a heavy favorite in this series. |

You're stating that Marek is wrong based on your beliefs. Which certainly aren't factual. It remains to be seen whether Marek is correct or not.
It comes back to the same thing. What is there to like about Fletcher and his performance? You seem to equate criticism of Fletcher with not wanting him to succeed. Another flaw in your failed logic. - MJL
This is what I like about Fletcher:
1. He is available to the media and for the most part is transparent and open
2. He is not afraid to answer tough questions as completely as he can
3. He's transparent in terms of team direction and needs
4. He has built out the org's player development, scouting and analytics departments
5. He has brought in Briere as another voice in the leadership team
6. He is not afraid to ask tough questions of the medical department and make changes if needed
7. He traded nothing for a RHS defenseman Ellis
8. He drafted Cam York
9. He traded Voracek for Atkinson
10. He signed Couturier to a team friendly extension
11. He has locked up Farabee
12. He signed several key young players before they could opt for free agency
13. He traded Gudas for Niskanen, and obtained Pitlick and Braun in 2019
14. He treated Giroux with the respect he deserved at the deadline.
And these are the things off the top of my head to like about Fletcher's performance. There is another side of this of course, Fletcher has not been perfect. |

Fletcher's overall grade at this time is a big phucking F.

You can still change the culture of a team even if it doesn't translate to wins.

I do not think Mike Smith is a good goalie. I think a really good team has gone 6-4 despite him in the playoffs. You think differently. We will see how it plays out.

This is what I like about Fletcher:
1. He is available to the media and for the most part is transparent and open
- jd250
This one is funny. What GM is not available to media? Is Fletcher more available than other GM's
2. He is not afraid to answer tough questions as completely as he can
- jd250
He rarely actually gives an actual answer. He is the equivalent of a used car salesman with his use of terms and clichés. He is a bull poop artist.
3. He's transparent in terms of team direction and needs
- jd250
No even sure what that means. How is that more important than the actual direction he takes the team?
4. He has built out the org's player development, scouting and analytics departments
- jd250
He hired a bunch of people you know nothing about. Where are the results?
5. He has brought in Briere as another voice in the leadership team
- jd250
Briere is the equivalent of a high paid intern. What dividends has this paid for the team?
6. He is not afraid to ask tough questions of the medical department and make changes if needed
- jd250
You don't know what he has asked of the medical department. You only know what he told you. What changes have been made?
7. He traded nothing for a RHS defenseman Ellis
- jd250
He traded two young assets for a player with a high cap hit and 6 years of term that didn't play last year. There are question marks if he'll be ready for next season. This was a really bad move by a bad GM.
8. He drafted Cam York
- jd250
He has potential but right now, he is just that.
9. He traded Voracek for Atkinson
- jd250
A lateral move at best.
10. He signed Couturier to a team friendly extension
- jd250
I like the deal with a low cap hit.
11. He has locked up Farabee
- jd250
A no brainer deal that is not really an accomplishment. Farabee doesn't have much leverage. Not a move that you laud the GM for.
12. He signed several key young players before they could opt for free agency
- jd250
Which young player?
- jd250
The Niskanen move was one of the few good moves he has made. The Braun move was not the right move for the team at the time.
Is this honestly all you have? What in your list says that this is the right guy to lead the team forward. That builds trust in his decision making? All you did for the most part is give him credit for basic moves that a GM makes.
You've embarrassed yourself again.

There was a poster on here…I can’t remember who that kept telling us he deserved a shot this year… just another guy that had a good JR. career but it never seemed to translate into the pro’s…..I guess now we’ll never know. |

15. He has spearheaded the Flyers to become one of the worst teams in the league….for (frank) sakes we are picking in the top 5 …
16. He missed on his first coaching hire’s badly. AV still has 10 million owed to him.
17. The Hayes contract was a reach….a quality 3rd line C is not worth 50 million dollars.
18. Keith “(frank)ing” Yandle
Did I mention they are now one of the worst, softest, teams in the NHL with no clear direction? What’s is a aggressive retool ? Lol ..his explanation changes press conference to press conference.
I have liked some of his move just like I liked some of Hexy’s move, but this team blows….and he’s in charge. |
