On June 5 you reported that the there was a deal to be made between the Leafs and Campbell. And that this likely gets announced within the next 2 weeks. This was from your top level Leafs source who was on the business side of things and didn't play around with rumours.

At the time, I was pretty surprised to hear that. The day before, Friedman had reported that Leafs and Campbell hadn't discussed a contract extension for months. No talks. The Leafs appear to be moving on.

But I've been waiting during these last 2 weeks figuring your source maybe knew that they were secretly talking and ready to announce something. I guess not. Now the new rumour is that talks are non-existent and the Leafs appear to be moving on. Was that from the same source or is this another Leafs source? Definitely intriguing. Campbell is a top goalie and top domino.
