Trade Hughes to NJ. There’s been a lot of talks between the two teams in the last 3 months.
That would be surprising and unthought of by most - I-own_da-Northwest
They want to get younger and faster, NJ would be a great trade partner. I won't guess who goes the other way but it won't come cheap.

Miller, Hughes, Bo are staying. Available players are Pearson, Myers, OEL, Garland, D!ckenson, Hoglander (Nil's b*tch).

If you’re looking for a team to overpay it would be NJ for Hughes. The chance to have all three Hughes brothers may be too tempting. Could see 2nd overall pick, Holtz, plus, plus |

That’s a really bad idea. This organization needs a blue chip prospect: trading down is beyond stupid - CanuckDon
I like the idea, team could get 2 quality prospects out of it.
Not sure where some of the kids will go, after the top 10 or so, but players like Pickering, Bischel, Gaucher and Bystedt could be available at those spots.
Obviously there are others, but those are some examples. |

It has been talked about for about a year now, right after NJ selected the youngest Hughes brother.
I think it would be an excellent opportunity. |

Detroit Red Wings - 74 pts 25th OA
Ottawa Senators - 73 pts 26th OA
Chicago Blackhawks - 68 pts 27th OA
New Jersey Devils - 63 pts 28th OA
Philadelphia Flyers - 61 pts 29th OA
Seattle Kraken - 60 pts 30th OA
Arizona Coyotes - 57 pts 31st OA
Montreal Canadiens - 55 pts 32nd OA
So here are your bottom 20 and top 30 think my suggestion is pretty close while your 92 pts bottom 20 is a bit far fetched, but not uncommon among Canucks fans that need to always want to change everything. - Makita
I have no idea why you are trying to twist facts. Out of 32 teams the Canucks were what, 18th? I think Rueby was being generous to say bottom 20, including the last place team in each division in with the Canucks. Fact, Canucks with 92 points, fact, not in the top 12 teams therefore in the bottom 20 teams. |

I’d say for Quinn, you’d want 5 good pieces coming back. |

There is this thing called a league, 18th is not bottom 20, how the (frank) is 18 = 25-29 bottom 20, talk about twisting facts.
Rugby was not being generous at all, he was being sarcastic because he doesn't like the composition of the team, so he exaggerated the bottom 20 thing and you seem to want to carry the bottom 20 torch have at it, the team did not finish bottom 20 no matter how you twist it. |

Like I mentioned before I would like to see 5 players gone. Pearson, Richardson, D!ckenson Myers and potentially 1 more (maybe Garland)? With Sutter gone we need to focus on a 3LC big time. 4LC can be tweaked which we already had with Motte it would have been good to keep him as he proved he could move up/down the 3LC/4LC role. The RHD is the biggest priority IMO. Get most of this done and bring Miller back and under Boudreau with that win % there should be no reason we can't make the WC spot or higher. If mIller gets a kings ransom sure move him just can't see it happening. The ask will be way too high. - LordHumungous

I thought we wanted to get better? Myers is 1m overpaid, but he is superior to Barrie. |

lol it's not that difficult man...you move money out to balance it out or in a trade. Barrie comes on a good contract and could provide 45-50 points plus the RH Shot.. Yer a good dude Carse but don't lump yourself in with the armchair wanna be GM's here that aren't too bright. Don't let LA just making the PO's cloud your judgement lol - LordHumungous
Barrie makes no sense. He's a boost to a PP unit and that's about it. Problem is the Canucks run 1 D on the 1st unit, Quinn Hughes and he gets 90 seconds of each PP... outside of the 30 seconds on the 2nd unit Barrie would get, he's not much of a upgrade on anything... and can be argued he's more of a liability.
Meanwhile you talk Myers out Barrie in swapping out needed RHD.... Myers is arguably our most physical and meanest player.... Barrie isnt going to replace any of that and the 1.5m in savings on the same term, is not worth it imo...

You guys are just arguing different things.
You're reading bottom 20 as "the bottom OF THE 20s", while whoever else is saying "the bottom 20 TEAMS (team 13 through 32)"

I think you should stop smoking pot, it’s making you paranoid.
32-12 = 20
Do we agree?
Were the Canucks one of the 12 best teams in the league last season?
Now, if you would like to discuss what is to come, I would have time for entertaining where they will be at the same time next year. |
