I don't share any deep depression about this team, but I am getting older, 50 this Feb. I want to see the Canucks win the Cup before I'm back in diapers or dead. And if the last 52 years is a foreshadowing of the future....
Try something different already. Stop chasing the quick easy path to the Darkside, it hasn't worked.

The Canucks have come close a few times. Franchise hasn't had a lot of luck and usually haven't done themselves any favours. The rules are forever changing.

i already stated why I thought he could do it. The kid scored 29 with a bum wrist in 62 games in his rookie season. I dont like making excuses for players, but i imagine watching his dad slowly die and lose his mind for a year takes its toll. I am dealing with an extremely similar situation, living above my grandparents and being the primary caregiver to my grandma who has dementia. A healthy Boeser, IMO, can achieve 35 if he can stay healthy, and I stand by it. I dont give players "passes" very often for having bad years, but at 25 years old and watching his dad go through that, I will give him a pass and I expect him to have a great year next year.

if you average his goals per game, over an 82 game season across his career, its 37. Like I said, hopefully he can stay healthy and play all 82, but predicting 35 goals when his average over 82 is 37 isn't some massive stretch lol.

Seems a pretty solid prediction, hopefully he ups his preparation and can do the long haul this year.

Rewarding failure by keeping the on-ice team the same is not going to help this team or organization going forward. Resigning a soon to be 30 year old player, even though he is good, does not really move the needle for this team towards Cup contender. I know they failed under Green, and had a good yet failed to make the playoffs run under Boudreau. This to me created false hope. What are the realistic outcomes of keeping Miller?
1) They totally overachieve and fluke their way to a Cup win.
2) Make the playoffs and bow out without winning the Cup.
3) Miss the playoffs.
With any of these scenarios, can we resign Miller without him walking for nothing? Is it worth the risk? And is resigning him and using our cap space on a 30 yr old C worth it in the long run?
IMO not even close to be being worth the risk, as 1 isn't happening 2 and 3 are not worth a 1st rounder, and a top prospect, + to an organization with all the issues it has.

my whole prediction was based off of him being healthy. His goal per 82 this past year (a down year for him) was 32. Even over the span of his career, the guy averages 37 goals a season. I still don't think its an outlandish take to say he scores 35 if he can stay healthy ll
