have you been drinking? I’ve never met anyone from here and I never plan to, it would ruin the fun because I’m pretty boring and reserved in real life.
I don’t give a rats ass where players come from, as long as they’re talented and can help the team win. Although, if you’re under 5’ 11” tall, you’d better have great wheels and be ultra talented.

Are you saying you never went to a game with Nucker?

Competitive you mean then. There's a big difference. - boonerbuck
But with their prospect pool and if they continue to build without too many screwups, they will be in their Cup competing window soon. And with a chance to win their 3rd Cup before the Canucks win one. |

You need to tame it down a bit, the Canucks played almost 700 hockey , once they got rid of Green, and the are looking good prospect wise.
Rathbone, who is elite, Lockwood is an elite 3rd liner, Klimovich, had a great 4 games at some tournament, that nobody remembers, but is an A+prospect,
They just signed Kuzmeko, who is elite, they have Quinn, and Pouty who are more than elite, they also signed the 2 Swedes that are elite and don't even need to play in AHL.
Team is loaded with elite news. |

Right. We hear this non stop every season about one team or another. Most of the time they don't become a cup contender and try again in a few years. It's always so easy to point at a team and claim successful rebuild before the rebuild is... successful. This is one of the reasons Lefty gets the gears all the time. He's the rebuild of the week guy and gets it wrong over and over...
Canucks made it as far as the stacked Edmonton McDavids in the playoffs and farther than the super stacked Leafs ever have in the Matthews era... we are not contenders and until those teams do something, neither are they. |

Just seems like a well managed team when Lombardi was there winning Cups and now with Blake building another contender soon.
Draft and Destroy 😁

I think they would be a true cup contender, if they had a player like JTMiller. |

I have been consistent with my stance, even at the beginning of last year I stated I believed in the talent this team has.
Boudreau showed that with his record, I will stand by my opinions, you can make fun of them but neither of us knows where this team will be next year. I’m banking they are 650-700 club, you think they are bottom 20 so 350-400 club.
I guess we will see at seasons end. |

No worries there, we all have opinions, and just as we do every year and predict the outcome of the season, no one ever gets their picks remotely close.

He would help for sure, as he would on any competing team. But they just added Fiala and have 3 good centres. They dont need to rush anything more really at this point. Add at the deadline if they think its time. Imagine having non NHL depth to be able to add to your roster in a trade...at the right time. |

Trust me….this team of people as a management group has a lot of leeway with me, and it should from every fan. Building a championship caliber team takes ten to fifteen years. The shortest example I can think of is Chicago. Our unintentional rebuild in my mind started with drafting Elias Pettersson which was five years ago in 2017.
I expect another five years of building before you see a team that might have a chance at a Cup. - LeftCoaster
That’s pretty good take on the reality. We can discuss & banter here all we like but in the end you build on a core then go through the playoff learning curve to the cup runs.. That said next season should show us where this roster truly is situated as far as compete wise. I’d like to see more continuity & less big ups & downs as the 1st indicator it’s on the rails. |

Worth a shot. The Oilers need cap space and seem ready to move on from him. Hogs who will be lucky to have a roster spot and a AHL goalie that just lost his starting job. Or a 3rd rounder for a 4 OA pick in 2017 that is being skewered by the Oilers and their fanbase. How many times has this happen before with the Coilers? - carsonagenic
If you believe those stats you’ve never actually watched him play

Don't see it. Even with most top prospects taking 3-5 years to show results It's a 50/50 hit miss most of the time. This current LA club is FAR away from the balance of talent they had to win two cups. Not expecting them back to the dance anytime soon. Don't be shocked if the Nucks finish ahead of them in the standings. LA was very very lucky to win 3 games vs EDM in the first round. |

There is absolutely nothing wrong with what we have to work with here. Rutherford knows it too. So does Boudreau. |

Exactly! Two or 3 trades and they should be set to start being competitive.
Good to see you're finally seeing the forest through the trees. |

“According to Friedman, Whether it’s the NYR, WSH or someone else, the Canucks will aim higher than MIN’s return for Fiala & should get it for JT Miller. It’s going to be too hard to get an extension done. The Canucks could surprise us. The Myers rumours have been there forever.”

Agree very open to seeing Pearson, Richardson and D!ckenson moved and reworking the 3LC and 4LC roles. Plus acquiring the RHD we need. And keeping Garland. Pretty easy stuff really. With Miller and Boeser back and a .668 win % under Boudreau it's PO's or bust. I might have been wrong about Allvin and the chipmunks. Getting Boeser back is huge now we just need Miller done. Nice to have you on board with the Rutherford show. |

Disagree on LA.
Talented roster and deep prospect pool with cap space. 2 of 3 things the Canucks dont have.
The Canucks have too many holes and have 1 or possibly 2 AHL players at most ready to make the NHL roster. No depth and no cap to improve without moving NHL roster depth to fill holes.
LA was not very lucky against Edmonton at all. Took them to 7 games without their top Dman. |
