He may well be here in the fall, not an ideal situation for management as the risk/return factor is unknown in season. At least we agree on that RHD.
Isn't it time that another team overpays for one of our assets for a change FFS? - VanHockeyGuy
Absolutely. Balancing it all out will be very difficult however. 3 players for Miller would be fine a top RHD-1st-potential prospect or roster player would be good. Just don't see it happening. |

If he's here on opening day then this management group is as inept as the previous one. - Marwood
Or the offers weren't there. It will just put more pressure/distraction on the team. Not ideal.

Rather sign free-agent defenseman Pernell-Karl Subban, on a short term deal, than trade for Barrie.
PK is better defensively, is willing to make a hit, occasionally will drop the gloves and provides a bit of offense.
No assets lost for signing him either.
No I am not saying I would do this, just saying he is a better option, for quality, capspace and not giving up anything. - Reubenkincade
lol folks whine about locker room cancers in here PK would provide that in spades. lol |

Maybe not at the draft, but something will need to give at some point.

I followed Rutherford for close to 16 years in PIT.
Get ready to be disappointed. |

Usually at least 1 of them shows up, when I start calling them names. |

At this point I'll put some faith in Allvin and his team.

EDM's goalie situation is dire. Koskinen is gone and rumours are Smith is retiring. Dipietro-Pearson-Richardson for barrie would be fine. Pearson and Richardson could help Edm's bottom 6 in the PO's. - LordHumungous
They have no cap space and would never do this deal.

They deserve their shot. Bringing Boeser back is a good sign to me and tells me Miller will most likely be here at seasons start which is good. I know what to expect with Rutherford. |

Pool party not a good fit here IMO. in Edm's bottom 6 he looked mediocre at best. Would need top 6 minutes and Pettersson/Boeser/Horvat/Miller etc not the best line match for Pul-yer-Jaarvi. |

They lose Miller for nothing, this team is done let alone the regime.
I wouldn't chance that. |

100% disagree
2 yr 2mil show me deal is value. He can play up and done your lineup, and for no risk at that cost. |

How so? If the team sputters they can move him at TDL. Regardless whatever we get for Miller now or later this group here will never be happy lol. |

Just another slightly better version of Virtanen and lacks top 6 Hockey Sense. Pass. |

I have no idea why certain people want to drop a steamy deuce on them already. They've done a good job so far stopping the bleeding. It's been less than a year and this is their first off season. I think they deserve a bit more runway. |

I would be happy if for the first time in the teams 52 year history, they would build a complete organization by building through the draft. Suck and suck bad, gather picks and then add talent when they are ready to compete. So I guess I will always be sad... |

That’s truly amazing. You’re a time jumper with a 93MPH wrister!
Rutherford was named General Manager of the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2014… |

I'm not expecting the same things. But unlike yourself I do understand how JR operates. It will be more on Allvin eventually to get this thing rolling here in Van I don't expect Rutherford's effect levels here to be anywhere close to where they were in PIT. Is what it is man. |
