Sekeres "Looking like a buyer's market" - VanHockeyGuy
Drance says after pick 5 it's going to be a just all over.
Teams are going to wait to see if someone they have a lot higher falls into their laps.
It's a good thing Vancouver has a stronger analytics team now.
Really could look like a trade down for Van this season. |

I don’t see why that’s delusional as it acquires a top 10 player in the league production wise for them.
What do you suggest? We trade him straight across for Kakko and the rights to Ryan Strome like many other Canucks fans are suggesting? Hahahahahaha - I-own_da-Northwest
Well that Debrincat deal sets a bar for a signed for 1 more year player, but he is only 24 and will be a RFA not a UFA. So... Miller should have went at the deadline |

Decent young top 6 for the Sens
Batherson Norris Tkachuk
Formenton Stutzle Debrincat

hmmm
well i did not see a single insider connect those dots between ottawa and debrincat and also ottawa had a deal lined up today to move down from 7 to dump murray's contract to buffalo but he nixed it with his ntc.
and now there's a report that ottawa has yet to even contact debrincat's agent about an extension despite making this deal
sems like this all came together quickly today, no?
seems like it fits the definition of a surprise trade to me lol - Nucker101
Some times we fans, need to be able to put 2+2 together, without having to be told by Freidman etc that something may or may not happen. |

i guess they plan on going full tank for Bedard, as there is no way anyone is trading for toews and kane with their cap hits and age. We will see a REALLY bad blackhawk team next year I think. - Codes1087
Someone has to give the pathetic Coyotes a run for the bottom. |

Yes, if that’s the best offer. He is a 29 year old on an expiring contract that isn’t a top 10 player. Love miller but don’t expect a repeat performance |

The difference could arguably be that Miller finished 9th in league scoring while Debrincat finished 37th with 21 less points. So you’re trying to get a deal For cheap on Debrincat hoping that the gamble works out and he becomes like a Miller for you. |

Not likely to happen but:
Miller for McMichael, Lapierre, 20oa
15oa(small add+) for Dach
Dach plays with Bo and Boeser and uses his passing to help them put up 30+ goals each. - Retinalz
Not bad but Canucks need Defense. |

He finished 9th in league scoring last year. Surely we should dismiss that and devalue our own players? |

Sens are interested in Weegar. I hope the Canucks inquire as well. |

Again, you aren't listening to what the management of teams are saying, the Canucks have clearly stated they are targeting 26 and under.
Should I call up Elliotte to re-iterate this for you? |

He's a year older than Bo Horvat though and don't dmen age better than forwards. If they plan to sign Horvat long-term than I think looking into Weegar makes sense. |
|
|
|
Did the management group tie their hands, by insisting on young players, and not willing to take draft picks?
Guess we find out soon enough. |

I've read that he's comfortable playing both sides, good versatility but on the Canucks he'd be the top RHD |

it's pretty difficult acquiring good U-26 NHL players, especially at C/D because teams aren't exactly shopping those players. The age gap thing is very tough to pull off. |

I like Weegar, but he doesn't make sense. That is what got this team into this mess in the 1st place.
I realize you are a huge Benning fan, but I thought you might have learnt something. |

Well to me it's contradictory to sign Horvat for 6+ years and then also say that Weegar isn't a fit for this team.
That hypocrisy seems very Benning-like to me |

Yup.
When this group got hired, I said I would wait until the draft too see the direction they are trying to take, so I won't judge this group until after draft is done tomorrow. |
