People forget how compliance buyouts impacted the market too, basically a bailout for stupid teams to blow their cap again and get a reset button. It’s been so long since we’ve had those that now the smarter teams are widening the gap between themselves and the stupid teams.

You're obviously a close-knit bunch; I'm looking forward to getting to know you all.

As far as the Canucks' fortunes for this season, I'm taking a wait-and-see attitude for now. We know what these players can do when they're firing on all cylinders but I don't have a good feel yet for what Torts will bring to the table.

I've watched this team long enough that I tend to fear the worst but hope for the best. It's certainly going to be an interesting year!
