“Bill Armstrong did some wheeling and dealing and the team walks away with Logan Cooley, Conor Geekie, and Maveric Lamoureux as future Coyotes. Definitely a good start, and we'll be back for Day 2 tomorrow”

What a beautiful day for the Coyotes franchise and our rebuild

- Pacificgem

Lamoureux is not that good. He’s tall and that’s it. 9th in scoring on his team.

The never ending rebuild. Every year people clammer about all their picks but they always suck and everyone good leaves lol

new regime really bringing in the change so far

Tyler Motte, Travis Hamonic and Travis Dermott....big trades

undersized winger in round 1

- Nucker101

Management definitely not following the narrative that has been assigned to them... Going to bring in picks/young players and restock? Going to address the need to be tougher?

Sandpaper out and softness added so far. TDL passes without cashing in for the future... Day 1 of the draft and no picks acquired and more softness added. Let's hope something happens tomorrow that shows this is not just wishful thinking by our delusional fans. So far not very impressive by this super management group that is supposed to be so refreshing and competent compared to Benning.

The season starts October 7th, not July 7th. Let’s wait and see.

When was the last time you were impressed by Canuck management? I can't remember the last time I was impressed by anything they did, maybe firing Nonis

Skating

Lekkerimäki is an elite skater with solid lateral mobility. He uses a low centre of mass when taking his strides that enables him to combine high straight-line speed with manoeuvrability. He also has the balance to quickly transfer his weight from one side to another, which he uses to deceive defenders. His mobility is integral to his shooting efficiency, where he agilely moves into position to release his one-timer.

his stride looks weird to me

I think though that even the most reasonable fans(not me of course) have to feel underwhelmed at the moment. I think that Tallon & Rutherford are good hockey minds and probably have a good plan... but who knows. Maybe they’re content resting on their reputations.

Little late to the party but I love the pick. Kids a snipe show. 7 goals in 26 games at the age of 17 in the SHL is crazy.

Even compared to Eklund who was drafted 7th last year and a year older his stats are decent.

Draft skill in the first round, and they did that. Pumped.

- TurdFergeson

They didn’t take him for his scoring prowess GM Bill Armstrong sees Maveric Lamoureux as having Colton Parayko potential. When you select kids at the end of the first round it’s all about potential.

To be fair they have all summer. That said I'll believe it when I see it.

They've been hired since the start of this year, eventually the honeymoon/forgiveness period will wear off, especially in this market

End of July is my prediction if the biggest move they’ve done is Dermott and Richardson.

The real offseason is yet to begin. The draft is for the future & what comes next is when we can see the real direction management will take.
