Exactly. Fleury went very cheap. Jesus. I’d probably rather have him in the roster than Rutta. - Barnaby36
100% I would rather have Fleury. |

I'm not thrilled by the Rutta signing, but I'd wait to see how Hextall's plan unfolds before judging the whole thing. - Rinosaur Didn't see this typing out my dissertation. Kinda scares me lol

I’ll just throw a thought here: what if we package Dumoulin/Zucker to CHI for P.Kane? They are trying to win the Bedard lotery draft and we’d be giving them 2 expiring contracts for next year. Would that be crazy? Off course we’d have to add a 1st RP and probably a good prospect too. |

There's definitely a risk. Pens lose leverage once teams know they have to move someone.

It will take a lot more than that...CHI will have some serious offers on Kane.

True but in this case they could swap Zucker and Demoulin for picks at the deadline as both are UFA. With more playing time they could increase their value...not that it would be anywhere near what it would take for Kane though. We'd have to add in our last 1st rounder, next one, maybe another piece...at least. |

And.....it's gone. So much for Vegas' newly found cap space. Right back to over the cap. |

That signing was known for like a month now. They wanted to clear space before making it official. |

They bring in players hoping they play well to up their deadline value just goes against trying to tank for Bedard. Straight up picks now is the safer play.

Yup
The Penguins have signed forward Drake Caggiula to a one-year contract.
The two-way contract runs through the 2022.23 season and carries an average annual value of $750,000 at the NHL level. |

So we’ve added one big guy on D and a couple speedy/heart and soul 4th liners in Archibald/Caggiula.
Not sure if Johan Larsson is a done deal already but I guess he’s a good 4th line C. I’m ok with this.
Today I’d give us a D grade so far. Before that we were a solid A. |

Rutta is a RHD. I'm sure that was specific to their need.
