D? That bad? - stevens87
I mean we overpaid for a 31 yo Dman in Rutta and didn’t bring anyone with an offensive pulse for our 2nd or 3rd lines. |

Red wings made a sneaky good deal for Kubalik earlier. $2.5 mil aav is real low for a potential 30-40 point player. |

Lol. Nice signing for WBS Reverend. You’re the most knowledgeable guy around here when it comes to our affiliate team. - Barnaby36

I thought so too. Not that I thought he’d be a fit for us but that’s a pretty good price. On the other hand they overpaid for Maatta, Copp, Perron and Chiarot. |

DET made some nice moves today and then follows them up by locking Chiarot up for almost $5M. |

So we’ve added one big guy on D and a couple speedy/heart and soul 4th liners in Archibald/Caggiula.
Not sure if Johan Larsson is a done deal already but I guess he’s a good 4th line C. I’m ok with this.
Today I’d give us a D grade so far. Before that we were a solid A. - Barnaby36
Lol heart and soul. Yeah that’s one way to put it. |

Didn't realize Phil the thrill had 52 points last year. If he's cheap, bring him back! Send Kap to the moon. |

Copp was ok and Perron is only 2 years. But Kubalik is a decent player. For that price I would had love to see him on the pens. |

Only 8 goals haha. I love Phil but I think we should let that one go haha. I'd be interested in Palat if we could move one of our LD and package Kap with that haha |

On random non-penguin related note, I really can't figure out TOR. With all the goalies that were available, they trade for Murray and Samsonov. How can you say you're serious about winning by making decisions like that? They're going to be a bubble team next year. |

Palat. Now we’re talking. He’s a gamer.
Part of me would like to see Heinen back for the 3rd line. |

I think it's quite possible Tampa would of liked to of kept Ratta... He was part of their two rings. Played all 23 games of the 2nd one and most of the finals vs Stars in first run. Dude is a winner coming from a winning culture. I thought he looked great these playoffs and I watched most of Tampa's games. Tampa handed out some big contracts and are going to be tight, they couldnt afford what he wanted. Overall I don't like the signing for the Pens, not sure it was necessary at all haha, but I don't think it's going to be detrimental to the overall team D, even if they lose Marino. |

Kubalik was to CHI what Kapanen is to the Pens.

I don’t think Rutta will be bad but the feeling is that We got robbed seeing them signing H.Fleury for less than .800M
Also, Maybe Rutta plays LD and is here to replace Dumoulin or Pettersson. |

A 4th line of Kubalik-Blueger-Kapanen. I mean, they may score a lot of goals or they may give up a lot goals. Either way, I’d be really interested to see how that would turn out |

Surprised Johnny G chose CBJ over NJ given they offered 7 years and 9+ million … NJ roster seems much closer to breaking out |

The 2 aren't remotely comparable. Rutta is a legit NHLer. Fluery is a fringe NHLer. |

Oh definitely take Palat, but we likely can't afford him. 8 g's on Zona though. I bet his total doubles here. I'm talking like 2mil for one year. Not giving him any term.
Mostly just f'n around. I know it's not going to happen, but I hate the thought of bringing back Kap and I'd rather have a real backup RW when Rust or Rak inevitably get hurt. |
