Saw that, he’s a nice player , but doesn’t scare me on them, he’s a guy who helps a near contender more than he helps a bottom feeder |

Not one to ever stick up for Ek and probably was just lucky timing, but he did post Geno back to Pitt at the same time everyone else was reporting that he was going to test the FA market. - Pags
Yea, but even Hextall seemed surprised at Malkin agreeing to the deal before FA started. EK also said some weird deal for Letang was confirmed, like a 4 year/28 mil contract or something stupid.
Let’s be real, if you follow the right people on Twitter, you can easily make rumors |

Since we decided we could afford Palat...if he is really gone, Nino is still out there. Not sure about paying him 5 per, but he'd be a decent add as well. |

D Strome is perhaps a better option. He can play W or C (for when Malkin gets hurt)... |

“… We have nine defensemen. That’s a couple too many,” Hextall said. “If we could move a defenseman maybe for a forward, something like that, or if we could move a defenseman for futures, those are the types of things that we’ll be looking at. I don’t know when or where…”
“We’re certainly not going to have nine (defensemen) on our opening roster. So that’s a fair assumption. I don’t know where that’s all going. Sometimes you sit there and wait till something moves before you sign the guy. But we felt like we wanted to get a little bit heavier on the back end,” Hextall said. “We feel Jan is a very sound penalty killer, a real solid guy to play with, really with any left-hander on our team. So we feel like he’s a good addition to our team. We feel like we got better and added a little bit of a girth that we need in front of the net in penalty-killing situations.”

Ok that makes me have a little hope we are keeping Marino and just adding a bigger body to the blue line which we know has been a goal of theirs. I don't like it just upgrading from a perfectly fine and much cheaper Ruhwedel, but I'll take that over trading Marino. And I don't disagree they could use that guy basically since Cole left aside from Gudbranson.
Still may be setting up to trade Marino, just hoping that's set in stone. |

I do really like Nino and think he'd make a nice addition if they could make that work somehow. |

I've been wanting the Pens to get Nino since the World Jr's way back in the day. Another great option for 2LW perhaps (I know he likes the off wing), he might actually come in under $5M per. Out with Pettersson and in with Nino would really top things off.
I have to think Carolina is out on him after picking up Pacs.

No clue, CF has him on the Pens, but as a non roster and as a UFA so even they have no idea. - Pags
Marshall says it’s all based on the Friedman tweet. If Freedman had gotten wrong he would have issued a correction by now. My gut: there’s a trade that’s agreed to in principle that’s hanging on some detail/other move and Hex doesn’t want to make Larsson official until after the trade incase the trade falls through and the Larsson signing would screw our cap without it. |

A hilarious development is that Tyler Kennedy has just been making TikToks gassing up Geno over the past few days. Incredibly here for Regular Normal Penguins Fan Tyler Kennedy. |

For a player like Larsson, I’d hope what we have free should be enough to sign him. If that’s the case, I’m a little nervous about the contract |

We're currently over the cap $191,842 haha
Edit:Not sure why Archibald and Cagg are up on the big roster though |

I wouldn’t be sleeping on NJ. If they get average goaltending they are in the playoff mix. |

Yea had they acquired Gaudreau that would have been real trouble haha. They are still gonna be tough |

Palat might be a better fit. Plus he’s one of Tatars best friends. |

I’m not, I live in north NJ so I watch my fair share of devils games. You’re right their tending was abysmal last year. I just don’t know if Palat moves them from exciting bottom feeder to contender overnight like Johnny G would have |

Gaudreau wouldn’t have made them a contender but Palat fills a totally different role. They now have 9 really good top 9 forwards before you even consider guys like Holtz. |
