This has to be a product of his lack of confidence. The kid is bigger than most out there, but he is still playing so timidly most of the time. If he can solve that issue it will translate into every other area.

Kakko just needs a normal season for himself. Last year he was hurt for awhile and the two covid years before that. His whole career so far has been inconsistent including circumstances he had nothing to do with. Can’t get into a rhythm to build confidence

This is why I’m so reluctant to trade him. We need to give him 2 more full seasons to really determine what they have in him.

Trocheck didn't mention that in his answer. He only acknowledged the Pens' interest but that he liked the Rangers' personnel more. Of course, it could be that the pens didn't want to meet his ask (or approach it).
