maybe when my current laptop goes i'll try one of those. it's just less storage right? it's all in the cloud instead of on a hard drive or whatever?

It all depends on your needs obviously, I suggest you do a serious analysis of which software you need so that you don't have buyers remorse.

I had one for a while and it worked well ... but I found it very limiting in terms of what software you can install. I gave it to my now deceased Mom as all she needed was access to the internet ... it also meant less work for me to maintain her machine. LOL

If it's through a browser then no problem ... the thing with Chromebooks is you need internet access at all time or your machine is useless.

I only used it as a secondary machine for browsing the web when sitting in front of my big screen TV ... it's perfect for such a use case. But if you also need some specific utility programs (ie. app to control you home theatre system, Hue lights, etc) then you're pretty much out of luck.

I found the limitations were not worth it ... but that's just me and my specific needs. I much prefer the freedom and versatility of a real laptop.

New ones work offline. All Google docs work will be saved locally then transfered to Drive once connected.

Also, since they are loaded with google play store, you can download games and apps which do not need internet access

Those are the worst!

also, if you watch any yawtoob reviews make sure they're at least a year old cause a newer (and more expensive) version came out.

Time will tell, we have no idea who they would have picked anyway.

Odds are, that player wouldn't have as interesting a toolset as Kirby Dach.

I would have been happy with the Wings picking Nazar at 8th (although i am happy with Kasper also) so Chicago getting him at 13th is great for them. Out of the 3 teams in that trade, i think the Habs got the worst player. Not a fan of Dach at all and like Rasmussen for the Wings, i think Dach is a bottom 6 forward. I understand why Chicago traded him even though they are rebuilding. They likely think the same thing and traded him before his value decreased too much to even be worth a 1st round pick.

What's not to like about Nazar, the only thing Dach has over him is size.

I like Dach more than the other two.

And while I understand why Detroit went with Kasper to fill a need, I don't think he was the BPA at #8.

But I respect the opinion, there is obviously some risk with trading for Dach that I'm sure the Habs considered when they traded for him.
