prior to last season I don't recall being nervous very often when Petry had the puck in his own zone, but perhaps I'm overvaluing his defensive awareness for some reason.

Bank the cap space. Matheson keeps them from forcing a kid into the lineup that's not ready yet. Top 3 pick next year is the objective, stay the course.

I think he will be fine, serviceable, but won't replicate what Petry can bring, when on his game. Will play top 4 this year, and maybe next year, before the kids push him down the lineup.
