His two major trades the past two years have been really good. His internal signings have been by and large really good with two head scratchers in Kapanen and to a lesser extent Carter (if Sullivan doesn’t think Blueger is a 3C then what can you do? There was no one else but man that contract sucks now). He is absolutely horrid with free agent signings though.
Tenure seems like a C+ so far. More positive than negative but not nearly enough positive. Shade above neutral. - Victoro311
I would have liked him to wait Geno out a few more days. He obviously wasn’t getting better offers and wanted to sign with the pens. Could have maybe sweated him down to 5.5 mill for 2 years. |

That was never gonna happen. Most people wanted him at 7.1 and the fact that it was a mil less is amazing. |

I haven’t checked cap friendly but I think we really do need to shed someone now. Obviously has to be defense. - Brownsoldier
Nope. It’s like everyone ignores the 20 times I’ve said they can move Ty Smith and DOC to the AHL and become cap compliant. They are 1.4 mil over. You add 860k+750k you get 1.61m….
Not to mention they have scrubs they can send through waivers that likely won’t get picked up. |

I think Kap or Zucker gets traded. I think Boyle and/or E-Rod may be resigned |

This Heinen signing makes me so much happier now. He was a fit for our 3rd line.
He might be thinking: how the F Kappy got 3 times more than me? Geez |

I find hex to be a lesser jr. Both had some good and bad things. Jr swung for the fences and when it worked it was awesome and when it didn’t it was a massive waste of resources. Hex plays it safe and has some decent trades but also wastes a few mill on stupid poop like Kap. |

This team looks insanely better if you can just somehow turn Kap into a useful middle six winger and sign Milano. |

You think that they would actually trade Kap haha, I doubt it. Trade Zuck to the ducks:
Guentz-Sid-Rust
Milano-Geno-Rakell
Heinen -Stastny-Carter
Poehling -Blue-Kap |

You know I don’t mind carter at all, except that he can’t play 82 games. He needs to be sat regularity to keep him fresh throughout the season. Limited minutes. Obviously being top 6 last year really wore him down quick, but a mix of 3/4 line duties and a regular nap day instead of a game should do wonders. |

Kap, Zucker, POJ, Poulin and a first for JT Miller from Van. Then Hex would be respected lol Maybe add Rutta in there lol |

That would be the perfect way to handle an aging roster. Strategically sit the old guys from time to time. Will never happen. Even worse, these guys will get nicked up and play through it. |

Carter did look like a different person after the week break last year. Till he got tuckered out again haha. Crosby and malkin would never be sat. But (frank) carter, it would only benefit everyone. |

It would certainly benefit their chances of winning a cup for the oldest team in the league. |

At this point I'm too concerned if Hextall traded Zucker he'd somehow make the situation worse.
My guess is Ruhwedel is probably getting moved. I'd say McGinn but that would be wishful thinking. |

Alright, Hexy. Great job on this one.
It's pretty amazing that Heinen is only getting $1M and Archibald is getting $900K. |
