A nice trilogy on the Jets prospects. Thanks guys !

On the surface the future does look decent based on the Jets young crop of players. With the exception of Laine ( pure luck in the lottery) it's been somewhat tough being in the middle of the league standings for so many years. Chevy never really got much of a rebuilding phase where we finished near the bottom of the league. Therefore drafting a string of youth stars that teams like Edmonton, NJ, Buffalo, etc got to build around over several bad years never really were in the equation for the Jets. I still opine that we have done pretty well considering with regards to the performance at the draft table.

If I had one critique it is that Chevy has rarely used some second and third round picks or prospects to trade up into the top five or six from those middle positions and maybe grab a bonafide future star. Chevy has done extremely well with top ten picks, Ehlers , Trouba, Laine, and Perfetti. I'd rather have one guaranteed star on our roster every year than 6 "maybes". Its not like there is more than one or two spots on a roster any one year anyways so why not just go for it ? This year we could have possibly traded away our 13th, 3rd round & 4th round, and maybe a guy like Logan Stanley or Gustaffson to move up to 4th and grab Shane Wright.

While sure, it would be worth it for that hypothetical deal, the Jets should be more than happy with with their crops of players drafted. Lucius, McGroarty, Lambert Heinola, etc are all picks outside the top 10, players like Kuzmin, Salminen, etc should have fans really excited outside the first round. I have no issues with the Jets pool right now. Sure, Wright would be great, but don't lose you eye on what they have

The Jets seem to have every position covered in their prospect pool. As i have mentioned before IT IS TIME THE JETS START TO PROMOTE SOME OF THESE PLAYERS. Too long has the Jets previous head coach neglected most of their draft and develop talent. This team should have several of these players on the roster this season. Keeping vets that have contributed into making this team a dysfunctional, underachieving, playoff missing losers has been a huge mistake.
In the 1980's Bill Walsh the 49ers new head coach drafted 3 defensive backs which was the weakest part of their team and started all 3 as rookies against all fans and pundits belief that these players needed veteran help and guidance. These players worked and learned together and help lead them to a Superbowl victory.
So the Jets have to stop keeping less talented journeyman vets and let some of these draft and develop players play. Thanks again Jacob.

I think youre really underestimating what itd take to move up to 4th from 14th, cant see what you suggested getting it done for Seattle.

Couldve moved up to 11th overall though, that was a dumb move by San Jose, their new GM has made lots of questionable moves so far.

The value of draft picks are so inconsistent. If you told me that the Habs should trade Romanov for 13th I would call you bonkers. If you also told me that Dach would be traded for 13th and a 3rd I would also call you bonkers. If you told me 7th, 39th and a 3rd was enough for DeBrincat, I would also call you bonkers.

Every team values pick differently. Always worth a call

Based on the the depth chart RD is looking very weak.
C is also iffy Lucius has been hurt 2 years in a row, and Lambert fell to 30th for a reason. I'm surprised there isn't more talk of Lambert joining the Moose, it seemed to work out okay for Perfetti

He doesn't hav a contract with the Pelicans right now. WHL or AHL are most likely, but who knows

True, those were all really bad trades.. lol

Some truly terrible GMs out there, having said that I still really doubt 14th overall, a 3rd, 4th and Logan Stanley would've moved the needle enough for Francis to part with 4th overall.
