Well that ain’t happening unless IF some cap dumps get mixed in from NYI. If that’s the case it’ll be a large package. So don’t bet on it.

I don’t care if Vancouver took Bailey, Beau, Clutterbuck, and the remnants of dipietro’s contract. Dobson is going no where. I know one of the canucks best writers started some BS rumor that Dobson is in play. He is untouchable. Not happening.

Can't see it happening, I could see JTM go to the Isle's though. No idea what's coming back.

Hmm, looks like a cursory glance at the salary cap and some basic logic rules out Kadri (aka Naz) coming back to Colorado. To me the only other possibility is if Erik Johnson develops an equipment allergy and sits out his final season on LTIR. But that's incredibly risky for Kadri to sign a 1-year deal with anyone. One injury and he walks away from tens of millions of dollars. Smart move for him at this stage is to suck it up and accept a 5-7 year deal, at a lower AAV than he anticipated. And likely with a team not ready to compete. I've always thought a team like Buffalo makes sense...lots of youth coming up, but very few veteran mentors, Okposo is in his final years and then his $6M is off the books, at that stage Jeff Skinner is the only 30+ roster player, so Kadri could slide in and wear an A on a team with an opening window. I have no sources though...

EJ does seem like the other option at first glance but there are a few things mitigating that as well. Firstly, people have been noticing for years - basically since MacKinnon broke through to become an elite player in '17-'18 - that the beginning of MacK's next contract coincides exactly with the end of Johnson's. So you take EJ's 6 and add it to MacK's 6.3 and. voila, you have elite #1 center money. Or maybe Nathan is nice and goes for 11.5 and the other million goes to re-sign Johnson who's indicated he wants to play for a while. As nice as it would be to retain Naz, MacKinnon is a few levels higher in priority.

Johnson is still a viable piece of the Avs D corps and the most beloved room presence on the team (as has been mentioned ad nauseam he's Landeskog's best friend on the team) and though he's no longer worth 6 mil it would blow a hole in the team chemistry to force him out. It also doesn't seem like Sakic/McFarland's style but who can predict that stuff.

I also thought Buffalo was a prime landing spot for Kadri given what you mentioned and it's relative proximity to London. Anaheim would seem like a really good spot for him as well but I'd personally rather he stay out
of the West.

Kadri is unsigned because he and his agent have over valued his services. Yes he had a great season, but that isn't likely to occur again, even playing for the Avs. Kadri wants big dollars, term, and a winning club....or so it seems, and it is doubtful he gets all three.
- Frozendisc

I agree. It’s unlikely he gets all three. Overvaluing his worth and poor market timing have diminished his options. Kadri gets two out of three with the Isles. Meatloaf said two outta tree ain’t bad.

I can't imagine he and/or his agent were that reckless

Logically speaking, the fact that there has been zero reported about Kadri by any of the insiders on this probably indicates that he's signing on Long Island. The need for more talent exists for the organization and the radio silence from all parties is certainly Lou's MO.

If he's not signing on LI then I have absolutely no idea what he and his agent were thinking, because pretty much every other team out there has done their work for the summer and bought/sold/etc... whatever players they were going to and he'd have very little leverage to negotiate a favorable deal

I guess Kadri signs conditional to Lou freeing up cap space.

Yeah, unless he's dumping Dobson which would be about the stupidest thing he could possibly do

You’re not getting Dobson for anyone on your roster but Petterson or maybe Quinn Hughes. Zero clue here 🙄

There is NO WORLD that exists in where the Islanders would even consider trading Noah Dobson. To even consider it is to have zero knowledge of professional hockey

Lou may be bat sh** crazy but there is no shot he would even take a call on a player like Dobson unless the name on the other end being dangled was Petterson

Yes, to be clear, I think the chances of Sakic "asking" EJ to fake an injury are close to 0%. Not how they operate. Which is also why I think the chances of Kadri signing in Colorado is also close to 0%. But I don't have any sources...

Yep, I figured you were just throwing out one other possible option. No sources here either. Kadri is a luxury the Avs simply can no longer afford and the Avs knew that last October. Hell, they knew it the night they drafted Newhook. They need Newhook and Meyers to step up. People really seem to have a hard time believing that a team who is handing their starting goaltending job to Alexander Georgiev is reluctant to hand their 2C job to Alex Newhook. Or to Mikko Rantanen with Newhook on his wing. If someone who ran a hockey rumor website wanted to pull a 2C move for the Avs out of his tail why not something logical and creative like Evan Rodrigues (it would probably be spelled with a Z if it were this site)? I don't think that's happening either but it's a hell of a lot more possible than Naz Kadri.

It’s getting close to the time where KADRI needs to start sweating about which contender wants him.

Islanders don’t need KADRI, maybe Chandler Stephenson would fit? Vegas is hurting they need to dump payroll.

Vegas does not need to dump payroll. And if they did Stephenson would be last on their list to ship out. If you want Karlsson then maybe something could be worked out.
