Do they normally cover stuff from competing media outlets to give them free traffic?

That being said, Im not sure they have ever covered anything from the Athletic.

They don't cover things from competing media outlets that makes them look bad. Rest assured, if the Athletic gave them an "A" they'd be covering it. Guaranteed.

Looks like TyFo may be finding his skating legs after a few games in. Good for him. Let's see if he can translate that to the Flyers. Highly likely he'll start in LV, though. Let's hope he can stay healthy seemingly unlike all of our other prospects.

Bill,

Any updates on ellis? Is he on track to start camp healthy?

He does not have that value at this time. He needs to show he is 100% healthy and productive. Would have easily got that type of return at that 2021 deadline or last summer.

In theory losing his contract will help. Seeing who the GM is it will probably do more harm.

It’s also a totally different market place currently with the cap. And Carter and Richards were both significantly younger. 26 and 30 is a huge discrepancy in hockey years.

Super stoked to see his steady leadership propel Provy to the Norris Trophy

Maybe I worded my question wrong. Why hasn't any of the csn writers written about how apathetic the fan base seems with this team

Probably, but I'm more concerned about the Flyers finishing 29th in a real season than finishing 32nd in a poll.

It is a broken record every time a player says the same thing year after year. Same boring ass take they give all the time.

Couterier has been here a long time. Should have moved on from him as well. There comes a time when best to move no matter how good the player.

But not long enough for you to learn how to spell his name.

TEAM USA
I felt the US team saw a Czech team that was to an extent following the pattern of laying low and not showing everything till they needed to. It harkens back to Anatoli Tarasovs method of game tempo. I also felt the Czechia team had more maturity and suffocating positional play getting on Team USA, more physical play (yes I said it ) Turned it off after the second period.

Nic Deslaurier
For all the bad comments on Deslaurier, there was a very complimentary segment of Dallas Eakins (his former coach in Anaheim) interview on NHL Tonight that spoke to his desire, learning and earning a spot as a PK. He asked the coach to watch him practice even though they had better PK options, but made that jump. Yes he is overpaid and term is bad considering everything else the team needs. I hope he can maintain that desire and newly learned skillset here.

Weegar was a really strong add for them. That top line won't be the same but they added a premier playmaking winger to play with their quality goal scorers. Kadri improves them at center. There is give and take there.
- MJL

Yup. They are deep and strong in goal. While they might finish a bit off last years regular season pace, I think they are better set to make a long playoff run and I have them as the favorite from the Pacific to reach the conference finals.

Monahan brought back a top 10 protected 1st round pick in 2024 or 2025.

Pretty sure its good Chuck didn't do that for JVR. They wanted our pick for the Bedard draft and that is a non starter in my opinion. Plus Chuck was not really in a negotiating position that Calgary was in. They could just LTIR Monahan to make the space I believe.

Of course Chuck made his own bed.

yes, CF did the "hands tied right thing this off-season", the good news in Flyer land

The most frustrating thing about the current Flyers lineup and regime is that if everything goes right, they’ll finish with 88-90 points and both miss the playoffs and not have a chance at a top 2 pick. Finishing 9-10 in the East and 18-20 in the league is the worst thing that could happen.

The points would be in a world where all of our bricks are solid for an entire season.
I doubt our bricks that are made of glass, coupled with a medical staff that oversees a mash unit hit that.
Hoping our fragile nature puts us in the lottery hunt.

At this point I just hope he's on track to lead a healthy normal life.
